Weekend Recap

Another whirlwind of a weekend flew by!

This weekend was all about celebrating Bill's brother's wedding!
We left for the Mohican State Park Lodge on Friday to get ready for the rehearsal Friday night. The wedding was held at the Grand Barn at the Mohicans. It was a beautiful venue (once you got there and were able to find it... It is out there)!

Friday night we had the rehearsal dinner at Der Dutchman. For those of you out of Ohio, it is a lot like Cracker Barrel with a homemade style buffet and Amish style craft store attached. Needless to say, this preggo took advantage of the buffet dinner and the pie for dessert!

Saturday morning, I went to the venue to help set up for the wedding. The bride had a beautiful vision that fit in perfectly with the rustic decor of the venue. There were navy linens with burlap and lace runners on each table. We filled ball jars with home grown wild flowers from Bill's mom's garden. The finished product was so pretty!

Each place setting held a little s'mores gift bag that guests could use later in the night by the fire.

I was particularly excited about the cupcake display... I had a pumpkin flavored cupcake with cream cheese icing that was to die for!

Of course, with the unpredictable Ohio weather, they had to rearrange the ceremony position to inside. They originally had planned to have the ceremony outside on the brick patio over looking the beautiful park scenery. It was raining for about an hour before the wedding and didn't look like it was going to let up, so the bride made the decision to take it inside. Other than that little hiccup, the wedding went on with out a hitch.

The bride's dress was absolutely gorgeous! It had crystal beading all throughout the straps and bodice that glittered in the sunlight. Bill and Scott's dad was the minister of the ceremony! It was such a great personal touch to the wedding.

During their first dance, some of the guest blew bubbles around them. It was a sweet moment!

Bill said a very heartfelt best man speech. I was very proud of him!

The rest of the night was filled with dancing out on the balcony. I even was able to do a little dancing myself! After a few songs though, I grabbed a chair and continued to chair dance the rest of the night lol :)

Sunday, we met the family and the newlyweds for brunch and then made our way home. After picking up Charlie from the puppy hotel, we went straight home and I crashed! I can't party like I used to!
