Friday Favorites

Wow, this week has flown by...

Bill and I are off to his Brother's wedding this weekend and I'm so excited!
They are getting married at the Grand Barn at The Mohicans which is a couple of hours away from us in Columbus. We are leaving this afternoon to get there for the rehearsal dinner. It will be our last wedding of the season this year and my only wedding as a prego :)

Let's get down to it... Here's what I'm loving this week:

1 | Let's talk about Pumpkin Spice doughnuts from Tim Horton's... My new obsession!

2 | My mom left us a bouquet of fresh flowers for when we got home from Clearwater and they have filled up the house with a wonderful aroma this week. Although, my allergies have been really bad recently...I'm hoping that they are not the culperit.

3 | The nursery is officially painted! We had painters come yesterday and I'm so glad to have this completed so we can start the decorating process. This weekend we will be busy with the wedding, but hopefully next week we can put together the crib and dresser. I also ordered these blackout panel curtains that I'm hoping will arrive next week as well. Still trying to decide on a rug... Paint colors are 'Hinting Blue' on 3 walls and 'Snowbound' on 1 wall where the crib will go. Both paints are by Sherwin Williams. I also have a fun project in mind for the white wall. Can't wait to share the final product!

4 | I have been all about making home made french toast recently... I may have to try out this recipe for Pumpkin Pie Franch Toast soon! Yum!!

5 | I'm loving Kourtney Kardashian's bump style in the photo above. I just got some long tanks and a few cardigans from Target so hoping to recreate this look when the temps start to drop (hopefully soon!).

6 | I'm loving LC's hair style above and hoping to recreate it for the wedding we are attending this weekend!

Babymoon Recap

Yes, I was successful at convincing my husband to take a "babymoon."
At first, he was like "what the heck is a babymoon?"
By the end of our said babymoon, he was saying "This was a great vacation!"

Ladies, start convincing your men early in your pregnancy that you need to take a little vacay together before the baby comes. You don't have to call it a "babymoon" if you don't want to. I really just wanted to see the beach and spend some quality R&R with my man while it is still just the 2 of us.

I won't bore you with too many details, but you will get the jist of it by the photos below (and if you follow me on IG, you have seen most of these already).

It was a wonderful 3 full days of relaxing by the pool and beach, eating A LOT and a prenatal massage that was so amazing!

We stayed at the Hilton Clearwater Beach which was a great location right next to Pier 60. Above was the view from our balcony!

When we got in on Friday, we went straight to the beach. It was a gorgeous day and we wanted to take advantage.

We enjoyed a couple of frozen daqueries (mine was 'virgin'). So refreshing!

That night we were exhausted from our early morning flight and spending the day in the sun, so we decided to order room service. I had the most delicious lobster mac & cheese!

The next morning we took a stroll down the street to look in a few shops. Hulk Hogan actually lives in Tampa and has a shop in Clearwater that he frequents. HH is Bill's childhood idol, so we had to stop by the shop.

It's not like us to miss an OSU game day and this was the first game of the season. So, I out on my scarlet and gray maxi (found here) and we headed to the closest bar that was playing the game.

We found a bar right on the strip that was playing the game. I ordered sweet potato fries that were covered in brown sugar and came with a honey dipping sauce. SO good...

The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging at the pool. My feet were feeling really swollen from the heat and walking, so this felt amazing!

That night, we walked over to Crabby Bill's for dinner and shared the best crab legs ever!

Sunday morning, I had the most relaxing 1 hour prenatal massage. It's different because you have to lie on your sides, but it was so worth it.

After my massage, we lounged at the pool for a while soaking up the rays. They even served frozen grape skewers that were a perfect treat.

We also spent some more time at the beach while we could. The sand there was so white and soft!

That night we went to Jimmy's Crows Nest to watch the sunset before heading to the Beachcomer for our dinner reservations.

We had the most amazing dinner! Started with shrimp cocktail, then for dinner we shared a surf 'n turf with a fillet and lobster tail and a crab cake. Everything was so good. I know pregnant ladies need to watch the amount of seafood they eat because of mercury levels, but shell fish like crab and lobster have very little to no mercury so I felt okay indulging. Of course, we had to share the dark chocolate brownie for dessert :)

It was a fantastic way to end our trip. The next day (Labor Day) we had an early morning flight back home. It was sad that our trip had to come to an end, but it was so great to come home to this face...

It was a quick trip, but a great excuse to relax by the pool and beach for a few days before fall and cooler temps come.

Bumpdate | 26 weeks!

Sorry for the lack of posting yesterday. I totally intended on posting a recap of our Babymoon, but it is hard to get back into the swing of things when you are used to relaxing in a setting like the one pictured above for 3 days :) Promise to post the recap tomorrow!

For now, I have a 26 week bumpdate for you...
I can't believe I'm less than 2 weeks away from the 3rd trimester.
This pregnancy has flown by. Well, maybe because this trimester has been a bit easier than the first. I am starting to feel a little uncomfortable the bigger I get and I can't imagine what it will be like towards the end :/

FACTS
  • Baby is now between 13.6 - 14.8 inches long and weighs between 1.5 - 2.5 lbs! Whoa... (source: TheBump
  • Baby is comparable to the size of a head of lettuce!
  • Baby's eyes are starting to form and his eyes will soon start to open.
  • Baby gender: BOY!! :)
  • Due date: December 6, 2014
Not so fun things
  • It is definitely getting more difficult to sleep at night. We got our tempurpedic bed delivered the day before we left for Clearwater, so we got to try it out for 1 night. I think it will help a lot! I was feeling a lot of pressure on my hips from sleeping on my sides with our old mattress. The Bumpnest does help a lot with support and side sleeping. I still have to switch sides a few times a night, however. (I didn't take the Bumpnest with me to Clearwater and I regret it!)
  • I've been getting some weird sharp, needle like pain in my left heel when I put a lot of pressure on it. If I stretch my foot out too much I get the same pain. It is really weird and I'm hoping it's just a pinched nerve or something that will go away with time, but it's quite annoying.
  • I found a couple stretch marks on my hip area :( I have been so focused on lathering up my belly and boobs, but have neglected my hip area. I'm going to start putting the Burt's Bees Mama Bees Belly Butter everywhere on my body!
  • Getting out of bed or off the couch is getting a little more strenuous. I feel like I am carrying around a bowling ball in my belly!
  • Feeling quite large and seeing myself in pics at bad angles is not so fun... I know it's just a part of accepting that your body changes during pregnancy, but I've got to be honest here and say I'm not feeling so sexy these days. Bill hates it when I bring it up and convinces me that he likes me more prego :)
  • Traveling while pregnant is not so easy. Having to pee a few times on a 2 hour flight is annoying. Not being able to lift your carry on bag by yourself is annoying. Having people stare at you and worry you might go into labor on the plane is annoying. However, having the flight attendants offer you an extra bag of peanuts is nice :) I have to travel again in 2 weeks for a few days for work and I'm not looking forward to it :/

Really awesome things
  • Feeling baby boy kick and move all the time now! It is such a great feeling that can't be explained in words. Just knowing he's in there and being active puts my mind at ease. So fun to have Bill feel him move too.
  • Taking a babymoon and spending quality time with Bill and baby! Highly recommend taking a trip prebaby just to reconnect with your partner.
  • Getting the cutest invitation in the mail for my baby shower! I am so excited!
  • Baby's nursery is getting painted tomorrow! September is officially nursery decorating month! I can't wait to share the finished product!
  • Receiving the crib and dresser! Now we just need to put them together...
  • Finding some really cool knobs on sale at Hobby Lobby that will go perfectly with the theme of the nursery.
  • Looking forward to maternity pics in 2 weeks! I have a dress all picked out and a few fun props for us :) I think we have decided to announce the name of #rumplebaby2014 with the maternity pics!
  • Looking forward to fall and cooler temps so I can wear my ever so comfy maternity leggings and jeans
  • Getting so close to the 3rd trimester and counting down the weeks until we meet our baby boy!
That's all for this bumpdate!
I will be back tomorrow with a recap of our Babymoon in Clearwater, FL!
