A Day in My Life (SAHM style)

I posted A Day In My Life (Working Mom) a few weeks ago and it was well received and seems to be a popular post. I wanted to also give you a glimpse into what it's like to be a SAHM (stay at home mom). Currently, I am home with Camden on Mondays and Fridays during the week (while Bill works). Come July, I will be a full time SAHM! I can't imagine what it will be like to throw in a newborn with this type of day, but I'm sure we will manage to survive.

So, here's what a typical day looks like when I'm home with Camden:

Date: Friday, April 22nd, 2016
Camden is 17 months old!
I'm home with Cam and it is a work day for Bill. He is working from home in his office, so we try not to disturb him too much.

6:15 am - I hear Cam stirring in the monitor next to my bed (my boy is an early riser and I've slowly gotten used to this wake up time. It would be nice to set an alarm and get up before he wakes up so I can get some things done, but he is usually my alarm clock!). I get up, brush my teeth, put my hair in a top knot and throw on some easy maternity yoga pants and a tee shirt. I get Cam out of his crib, change his diaper and get him dressed for the day.

*Side note: I typically shower and blow dry my hair about 2-3 times per week. Once on a work day right after I or Bill drop Camden off at daycare and before I start working or during his nap when I'm home with him. I will also shower on a weekend day when Bill can watch Cam. This was just an in between shower day!

6:30 - we head downstairs and I sit him in his high chair and get him set up with a hand full of cheerios and a sippy cup of milk. I also let him watch a kiddie video on YouTube while I make coffee and prepare my breakfast. He loves these Little Baby Bum videos that play all kinds of nursery rhymes and actually are somewhat educational, so I don't feel too guilty about letting him watch them.

I make Bill and I a pot of coffee for the day (I just have one cup in the mornings), I grab my overnight oats I prepared last night for my breakfast. I eat them cold and they aren't bad! I feed Cam a yogurt and slice up a banana for him. This is our go-to breakfast in the mornings. I typically feed him a snack around 8:30-9am (and he has breakfast at 9am at daycare when he goes), so we don't eat too heavy at this time.

7am - After breakfast, I clean up a bit and then we head to the playroom for some snuggles and cartoons. We play with some of his toys (blocks, balls, books, etc). Bill comes downstairs at about 7:30 ready for his work day, lets Charlie (our dog) outside and feeds him.

8:15am - I start to get hungry again (I guess the overnight oats weren't filling enough!), so we have what I like to call 'second breakfast'. I give Cam a cereal bar and some more banana. I have a granola bar and a hard boiled egg. I prepared some hard boiled eggs for the week hoping Camden would eat some, but he is having none of it, so they end up being a good snack for me!

8:45 - I decide it's time for a trip to Target (aka our second home). I usually try to do a morning outing to Target or the grocery store on the days I'm home with Camden to have meals and snacks and whatever we need stocked for the week or weekend.

Trying to shop with a toddler this age is tricky. He wants to stand up in the cart and grab everything, so I usually have to distract him with a toy or snack. This time, these neon plastic balls did the trick. Totally worth the 5 bucks to keep him occupied while I shop! I quickly grab what we need and head home.

9:30am - We are home and I put away some groceries while Camden runs around the kitchen. Once I'm finished, we head back to the playroom to play some more. I change his diaper in our little changing area we have set up in the playroom and he was struggling so bad that I just decided to leave his pants off. Totally not worth the fight if we are just hanging out at home!

I love when he picks up his stuffed animals and hugs them! Melts my heart!

I try my best to organize all his toys in the new bins we got and I quickly snap the photo below before it is completely wrecked again!

This is the photo I posted on IG...

And this is what it typically looks like after Cam gets into the bins! :)

We play in the playroom until about 11am when we both start getting hungry again.

11-11:15 - I prepare a lunch for Camden and myself. Camden is having a turkey and cream cheese roll up/wrap with some watermelon and goldfish crackers. I make myself a tuna salad sandwich and also enjoy some watermelon. I've been all about having fresh fruit in the fridge with this pregnancy!

Camden eats all the crackers, some of the wrap and watermelon, but doesn't seem too thrilled with this meal so I also end up feeding him some greek yogurt and mandarin oranges (He LOVES this combo and makes me feel better that he's getting some protein from the greek yogurt).

11:45 - We head upstairs and read a few books in his room before I put him down for a nap. Being that he is an early riser, he usually gets pretty sleepy by this time.

Once Camden is asleep, I try my best to be productive! On this day I was able to load the dishwasher, do a quick cleaning of the kitchen, folded and organized some baby clothes in the nursery, answered some emails and relaxed on the couch with a snack. (On Mondays, I'll work on blog posts during nap time as well)

2pm - I start to hear Camden stir in the monitor a little before 2pm. He slept for a little over 2 hours which is pretty typical. Some days he will sleep for 3 hours and on those days we rejoice :)

I get him out of his crib, change his diaper and we head downstairs for snack time.

2:15pm - I give him a sippy cup of milk and some of the blueberry breakfast bread I picked up at Target while we were there and he seems to like it! (He insisted on holding his new balls while he snacked...)

After snack time, we play for a bit. Then I decide it's the perfect day for a walk to the playground, so we get ready and head out in the stroller.

3pm - we get to the park (there's a nice park and playground right in our neighborhood which is so convenient!). I swing Camden in the swings and follow him around the playground for a bit.

We sit in the grass and I teach him what dandelions are :)

4pm - We head back home and play in our backyard for a bit. I picked up a little bubble gun at Target, so we play with that. He LOVES bubbles and always shouts "bubbles!" when he sees them.

4:45pm - We come back inside and play for a bit until Bill is done with work. Bill and I discuss getting pizza for dinner (always a great Friday night choice!).

5:15pm - Bill orders the pizza and heads out to pick it up. We have a new favorite pizza place that is right around the corner from our house. I have been on a pineapple and onion pizza kick (weird pregnancy cravings!). I also order the walnut and gorgonzola salad (which is sooo good!).

This is about when I forget to continue taking photos...

Camden has some pizza with us. He loves cheese pizza! I also feed him an apple and spinach pouch so I feel better that he had something 'green' with his pizza. He loves these pouches and sucks them down!

After dinner, I clean up a bit while Bill and Camden play.

6:30pm - Bill takes Camden upstairs for bath time. I relax on the couch. It is so nice to just sit after a busy day with Cam! I get pretty tired at the end of the day with him now that I'm very pregnant.

7pm - I join them in Camden's room with a half sippy cup of milk. I change Camden into PJs and play in his room for a bit and read books. He drinks his sippy cup while we sit and read a bit before I put him in his crib for bed. (Sometimes he will go right to sleep and sometimes he whines around for about 10 minutes or so before falling asleep)

7:30pm - Camden is asleep and Bill and I relax on the couch with some ice cream. We decide to watch a few episodes of House of Cards on Netflix (we have slowly gone through this season. For some reason we haven't been totally into it as the last few seasons).

By 10pm I am falling asleep on the couch. I head up to bed. Bill stays up a bit longer watching tv downstairs. I am asleep by 10:30! I know, really exciting Friday night! I'd like to say I'll be more exciting when I'm not pregnant, but I'll probably end up going to bed earlier with a newborn!

There is an example of our days together in a nutshell!

I just want to note that this was a really good day for Camden. There are somedays where he is in a 'mood' or doesn't want to nap and I end up driving him around our block in the carseat until he falls asleep. There are days when I just don't feel up for leaving the house because I'm so tired or the weather is bad or we are sick, etc and we get cabin fever!

This was a really good day and I'm so glad I was able to document it so I can remember these fun memories of just the 2 of us. He is in such a fun stage right now. He is so curious about the world around him and just wants to explore all his new surroundings. I plan on really soaking up these days we have together until baby #2 arrives.

Easy Maternity Style

Now that the weather is FINALLY getting warmer, I feel as though I am slowly coming out of my maternity style slump. In the winter months, I was constantly wearing my maternity leggings and jeans with oversized sweaters and sweatshirts that just made me feel so 'blah'.

I've been working on amping up my maternity style now that I can mix in some dresses! Especially, now that I'm in my 3rd trimester, the dress option is so much more comfortable too. I've been trying my best to not go overboard with buying too many 'maternity' pieces that I may not be able to wear again. Luckily, I bought a lot of maternity pieces last time I was pregnant that I have been able to wear this time around. I have been mixing in both maternity and non-maternity pieces into my everyday wardrobe.

First, I'll start with what I am typically wearing on a day I'm home with Camden. Taking care of a toddler, means you need to be wearing something super comfortable that is machine washable. For the most part I am wearing my Old Navy maternity capris or shorts for comfort. On top, I'll throw on one of these extra comfortable maternity tee shirts from Target. For a while, I was able to get away with just wearing normal sized tee shirts, but now that the belly is in full force, I had to pick up a few maternity ones.

On work days or on the weekends when we are running errands, I may throw on a pair of maternity jeans and a top to feel more 'put together'. I recently purchased a pair of distressed maternity jeans and I love them (they are now sold out, but I've linked to a few similar pairs below)! I bought them a size too big, so they don't fit perfectly snug, but they are super stretchy and soft which is nice. The tops I am wearing below were actually purchased when I was pregnant with Cam. The striped shirt is maternity, but the blouse is just a larger size from F21.

Dresses are also a really easy maternity go-to for a special occasion like a (rare) date night or shower/party of some sort. I bought a few maternity dresses from Pink Blush Maternity when I was pregnant with Camden and I'm so glad I've been able to wear them again. I also just picked up a few non-maternity dresses from Target that are perfect for now and post-baby.

floral maternity dress (last year) - Pink Blush Maternity | similar cardigan | blue patterned high-low dress (can't find online, but similar HERE) | saddle style crossbody | wedges - old (similar HERE & HERE) | monogram necklace | kendra scott necklace | similar kate spade watch

Here's another go-to maternity outfit that is all non-maternity!

Here is a list of some of my favorite maternity shops:

My go-to maternity sites are Old Navy and Target. Target has a great in store selection of basic maternity items you might need like tee shirts, tanks, leggings, etc. Old Navy is the same, but doesn't always have a great selection in stores, so I always order online.

Other maternity sites I love:

I hope this was helpful for those of you who are pregnant or in a maternity slump like I was!

I can't believe I am 30 weeks already! We are scheduling a c section for the last week of June when I'm 39 weeks, so baby #2 will be here in just a few short months!

Life Lately

Sorry again for the lack of posting over the last week. This 3rd trimester is definitely catching up to me and I'm finding myself wanting to rest/sleep when Camden is napping, which is usually when I can work on posts. I'm also starting to get more sleepy at night and have been going to bed about an hour after Camden goes down! Growing a human in your belly is exhausting! Anyways, here's a little recap of what we've been up to...

This past weekend was the first weekend we were really able to enjoy the warm, spring weather (and that no one was sick)! It's crazy how much a little sunshine and warm temps can really change my mood and overall energy level, anyone else?

Not only did we enjoy a lot of outside time together as a family, but we were also very productive on the baby #2 front. Bill put together the dresser for the nursery and our new double stroller. I started washing all of Cam's old NB clothes (ok, and some new ones I have bought... can't help myself!). I seriously forgot how teeny nb clothes are!

Update on the playroom: we moved it upstairs to the empty room by the dining room. I was getting a little tired of going up and down 2 flights of stairs with a toddler while pregnant and just thinking about having a newborn too, I think this will be an easier set up for now. It's a smaller space, but it's perfect for just Cam for now. When the boys get a bit older and need more space to play, I'm sure we will move it back down to the basement.

We (ok, Bill...) also put together the new playroom shelving and I'm loving the bins I bought for organization! Of course, those bins only stay put for a few minutes. Camden loves to pull them out and dump everything out of them as soon as we get in the playroom.

We also found a glider/recliner that will go perfect in the nursery from a local outlet furniture store, so we don't have to move Camden's out of his room.

Besides all that, we've just been enjoying being outside and going for family walks! Sunday afternoon we went to downtown Naperville and strolled around the riverwalk and shops. We also stopped at Jimmy's had had some dinner before heading home. There were so many people out! It seems like such a family friendly area which we love.

I'm hoping to get a few more fun posts published this week including a day in my life (SAHM).

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Accessories I'm Loving...

As I approach the last 10 weeks of pregnancy (yikes!), I know I won't be spending too much money on any new clothes. I just purchased a pair of maternity shorts which will most likely be my last maternity purchase before baby arrives. Instead of focusing on clothes, I've been eyeing some fun accessories for spring and summer.

1 | Ray-Ban aviators are an obvious choice when it comes to spring/summer sunglasses. They are super light weight and come in so many fun colors. What's even better is that they are currently 25% off!

2 | Statement earrings are back! There are so many cute styles and colors of statement earrings out right now and they make the perfect addition to a fun, off the shoulder sun dress. I'm loving this tassel pair which also look like they are very lightweight.

3 | Wearing a watch has become somewhat of an everyday accessory for me. I would love to get a fun, bright white watch for the upcoming seasons like this kate spade plastic strap one.

4 | You already know my love for the crossbody bag. Another easy go-to style for mamas is the wristlet. This one is the perfect size for your phone, ID and cards for quick trips to the store, grocery, etc. And it's perfect to just throw in the diaper bag if needed.

5 | One accessory that is on my wishlist is a cute pair of tassel sandals. There are a lot of different styles out right now, but this pair really caught my eye. I love the taupe color that can go easily with any outfit.

6 | Another fun accessory to get you in the warm weather mood is to switch out your phone case! I am loving sonix's line of colorful phone cases. I currently have this one in my shopping cart.

What warm weather accessories are you loving?

Life Lately

(Before and after of our family room and fireplace. Wall color is SW Popular Gray and white wash on the fireplace is 2 parts water, 1 part primer)

So sorry to be MIA from the blog last week. It was a crazy week with the painters here and of course, Camden came down with a double ear infection and an awful cold the day they started. Luckily, my parents were in town (Bill was out of town for work most of the week) to help during the chaos. He is slowly on the mend now, but still has a lingering runny nose and cough. I on the other hand, caught whatever he had over the weekend and have been feeling miserable ever since. I swear, I have been sick more times this pregnancy than I have in my entire life! I guess that's what I get for having a toddler in daycare and having a low immune system while pregnant. I feel like whatever he gets, I get it twice as bad. I finally went to the doctor yesterday and found out I have a sinus infection...ugh! So, I was prescribed a safe antibiotic to help clear the infection. Hopefully, I will be back to normal soon!

On the bright side, the weather has been so nice the past few days! We've even been able to play outside and take walks at night! Hallelujah! We had some visitors over the weekend and it was so nice to be able to enjoy the nice weather with them. (Thanks for the pictures below Aunt Angie! :)

And this week marks my 29th week of pregnancy! Hello third trimester! I finally ordered some things for baby #2's nursery last week. We just had this dresser delivered and I ordered these adorable animal prints (that are waaay less expensive than these). We've also decided to move Camden's glider to the baby's room and get him a big comfy reading chair in it's place. I still need to order the black out curtains and the crib I have in mind, but we are getting there!

I'm catching up on work and life this week, but have some fun posts scheduled for the blog. I know I owe you guys "A Day in My Life - SAHM style" and hoping to get it posted soon!

Hope you all are having a great week!

Trend Watch | Saddle Crossbody Bags

Row 1: one | two | three | four
Row 2: one | two | three | four

I am loving this spring/summer trend of saddle style crossbody bags. I have always been a fan of the crossbody style and have been carrying this one for the past 2 years! It's perfect for quick outings, grocery trips, etc. And it's great when you have your kids/babies with you because it's hands free!

I love this one that I just purchased recently and I've gotten quite a few compliments on it, so I'd thought I'd share some other options that are similar (and all under $30!). I have this one in my shopping cart right now and I may have to pull the trigger! I love that it is such a close match to the chloƩ one.

Here are a few other options I'm loving (under $60):

The painters are still working on our house today. It has been a rough week with Camden coming down with a double ear infection, but he is just about on the mend today. Thank goodness my parents were here Monday and Tuesday to help! I can't wait to show you guys before and after photos of the rooms we painted. Most likely I will post them next week, but you can follow me on snapchat (@LindsayRumple) to view snaps of the progress.

Happy Hump Day!

Week in Review

This week was a pretty productive one. We finalized our paint colors for the house. The painters start on Monday and could possibly take all week to finish! We are having them paint pretty much the entire downstairs, upstairs hallway, our bedroom and bathroom. It will be a big job and is the first big project we will have completed with the new house (besides getting blinds put in a few weeks ago). I can't wait to share a few before and after photos! There will be a lot of little projects over the next year and hopefully early next year we will start the kitchen renovation. I'm excited to share the progress with you guys!

Besides that, I decided it was time to spend a little money on some spring shopping. I've been so good about not really buying anything for myself since we moved. Bill and I have put a budget together for tackling house projects and of course, having another baby isn't cheap! Thank goodness for Target prices! Each piece I got (pictured below) is under $30! I also picked up some new make up / beauty products that I'm excited to try out. I will post a review soon!

dress (not maternity) | denim jacketbagsandals (only $19.99!)

Oh, and I added a few links to my side bar to the right. I've added a few recent post links and a "shop my closet" widget so you can view what I've purchased recently along with a few staple items and accessories in my closet (which include the items above).

I did really well with the meal planning this week! I am very proud of myself. On Monday I made this cheesy enchilada rice skillet on Monday. It was really good and I think next time I'll add some cooked chicken to it for more protein. But, it was really filling on it's own! We had plenty of left overs for the next day. Wednesday I made this slow cooker maple dijon chicken and broccoli. It was so easy and the chicken was delish! I plan on making these oven baked fajitas tonight which will be an easy weekend meal!

Yesterday, I had my glucose test which was about as fun as a root canal... Ok, it wasn't that bad and I've never had a root canal so I can't compare. It's really starting to hit me that we are actually going to have another baby soon! I feel so behind on getting ready for baby #2. His nursery right now is just a bunch of tubs with Camden's old clothes and baby things in them. I'm really hoping to start to get my act together over the next month. I've got some ideas on furniture for his room and have a few items on my wishlist that we need to just pull the trigger on already.

Last Saturday, we took Camden to his first swim lesson and let's just say he wasn't too thrilled about getting in the water! The instructors did say that it was normal for his age to cry a little off and on the first time, but that it would get better each time he went. Hoping tomorrow will be better!

This weekend my parents are visiting which I'm very excited about! We don't have any big plans, but it will just be nice to have them around to help out with Camden and a few little house projects.

Hope you all had a great week and happy Friday!

A Day in My Life (Working Mom)

Some of my favorite blogger posts are the "a day in my life" posts. Call me nosey, but I just like to know what other people (especially moms who seem to do it all) do on a daily basis. When I first started to think about writing this post, I was going to decide on a specific day to map out. The thing is, I get the 'best of both worlds' at the moment. I'm home with Cam 2 days during the week and 3 days I work and take him to daycare. So, I decided to actually post 2 separate "a day in my life" posts, so you all can see what it's like to be a working mom AND a SAHM (stay at home mom). I also want to document this time I have with just Camden before baby #2 arrives.

I have friends that work full time that always say they wish they could stay at home with their babies. I also have a few friends and know a lot of bloggers that are stay at home moms that seem to be losing their minds on a daily basis trying to keep up with their little ones. It's totally a "the grass is greener" scenario. I'm definitely using 2 different parts of my brain depending on what day it is. The days I'm at home with Cam can be much more physically and emotionally exhausting! The days I work seems to be a bit more mentally challenging and I always have a slight twinge of mother's guilt that I'm not with my son. I'm sure other working moms can relate.

So here's a little look at a "typical" work day for me (I say typical, but as you may know things aren't always 'typical' with a toddler!). PS - the photos below are completely unedited and from my iPhone. I wanted you to get a real sense of our day and not a filtered/edited version.

Date: March 31, 2016 (Thursday)
Camden is 16 months old

5:45 am - I hear Cam chirping in the monitor next to my bed. My boy is an early riser! I'm lucky when he sleeps past 6am. I get up, brush my teeth, throw on some yoga pants and a t shirt and go get him out of his crib. I change his diaper, then we head downstairs.

We do pretty much the same routine every morning. I set him up in his high chair and give him a hand full of cheerios and a sippy cup of milk and turn on a few Elmo videos on YouTube to keep him entertained while I start the coffee (I make an old school pot of coffee for Bill and me. I only have one cup in the morning) and our breakfast.

I have a piece of toast (I'm not normally hungry at this hour) and feed Cam some yogurt (this kind is his current favorite) and cut up half a banana for him.

(Yes, it's dark in the above photo because we get up before the sun!)

6:20 am - After breakfast we head to the basement to play in his playroom for a bit. He's getting pretty good at playing independently as long as I'm near by. Most of the time, however, he wants me to be engaged in what he's doing.
7:00 am - He hears 'dada' walking around upstairs so we head upstairs to say good morning.
7:15 am - After greeting 'dada', we head upstairs to start getting ready for the day.

We go to my room first so I can get dressed and slap on some minimal make up. I put on my favorite pair of maternity jeans, maternity tank and a cardigan which has been the norm on work days. Bill recently brought up some of my bins of summer clothes because I was wishfully thinking it might get warm someday... I let Camden play with some of my sandals while I get ready. Hey, whatever works!

I put my make up on with one eye on Camden and one eye in the mirror. Then, we head to Camden's room to get him ready for school.

7:25 am - I get Camden dressed and pack his bag for school. We play with a few puzzles before heading back downstairs.

7:45 am - We say bye to dada before heading out the door for school. Bill has a meeting at 9am that he had to prepare for, but typically he would help out in the mornings or take Camden to school.

I decide to swing by Starbucks because I'm starting to get a bit hungry and it's a good excuse to delay the daycare drop off. I order a tall decaf sugar free iced hazelnut latte (say that 3 times fast!) and a piece of pumpkin bread.

8:00 am - I take Camden in to school to drop him off. I thought maybe we'd get away with no tears this time, but I was wrong. As soon as I hand him off to the assistant, he starts crying. I've learned it's best at this time to just leave without making things worse. It is always the worst part of my day when I have to work. I always ask Bill to do drop offs when he can. The teacher has ensured me that he stops crying as soon as I leave. Even if she just says that to make me feel better, I'm ok with that.

8:15 am - I head to the post office because I need to send a birthday gift to my friend in Ohio who's daughter is turning 1 this weekend. Sometimes I will try to run quick errands in the morning before work and after I drop Camden off if I need to. Especially the ones that may be difficult to do on days I'm with him.

I realize the post office doesn't open until 8:30, so I wait in my car, eat my pumpkin bread and scroll through my phone. I end up Amazon prime-ing (that's a phrase, right?) diapers because I just remember we are running low. I seriously love Amazon prime and every mother should sign up for it!

I send the package and head home by 8:45 am.

9:00 am - I'm home and I clock in to my computer to start working for the day. If you don't know, I work remotely for a real estate investment company and help with their websites and social media accounts for their properties. I have been lucky that they allowed me to go part time after Camden was born. It has really helped keep a sense of balance for me and our family.

I work for a solid 2 hours and start to get hungry about 11am. I decide to heat up some of Bill's mom's home made chicken tortilla soup (it is soon good!). While the soup is heating up, I throw some dishes in the dishwasher and clean up the kitchen a bit. When the soup is ready, I add some shredded cheese and tortilla chips and eat while I continue working.

12 pm - I take a little break from work and check my personal email, start my blog post for tomorrow and comment on a few blogs. Then, I decide to test out a few more paint colors on our walls (we have finally finalized the colors this week!).

1 pm - I clock back in and continue working.

4 pm - I get a text from Bill saying he won't be home until after 5pm. Meaning I will need to pick up Camden from school. This is also about the time I panic and realize I haven't planned anything for dinner. We've been living off Easter left overs for the week and it just slipped my mind! So, I grab a frozen bagged meal we had in the freezer and throw it in a pot (This one is actually not bad, we've had it a few times). I also throw in a batch of frozen tater tots in the oven because, why not!

4:30 pm - The meal is cooked so I turn off the burner and set it aside to cool while I go pick up Camden. He is happy to see me when I pick him up, but it looked like he had a fun day from his daily report card.

5 pm - We are home and I fix Camden and I a plate for dinner. Don't worry, he did not eat this whole plate. I probably had about 90% of it!

Camden eats all of the tots and a few bites of veggies and chicken. I'll take it.

5:30 pm - I clean up a bit from dinner and we head downstairs to play.

6:15 pm - Dad comes down to join us for playtime.

6:30 pm - Camden starts to get whiny at this time of night, so my solution has been bath time! We head upstairs to take a bath. Camden LOVES our new big bathtub in our master bath.

6:45 / 7 pm - Bath time is done and he is now running around our room naked. I change into sweats and we go to his room to get him dressed in PJs and ready for bed.

7:15 pm - Bill brings up a half full sippy cup of milk, I read to him for a bit before bedtime. I love this time of day because he actually sits still with me for about 10 mins reading. A very rare occurrence during the day!

7:25 pm - He is ready for bed, so I turn off the lights and turn on his sound machine, get him all set up in his crib with his paci, blankie and lamb lovie. I kiss him goodnight, leave the room and turn on the monitor. He babbles to himself for about 5 minutes before falling asleep.

7:30 pm - I head downstairs and have another helping of dinner. Bill and I chat for a bit about our days. I clean up the kitchen and load the dishwasher.

8-8:30 pm - We sit on the couch. Bill watches basketball, I finish up my blog post for the next day. I'm exhausted, so I head up to bed just to lie down.

8:30 - 9:30 pm - I lay in bed scrolling through my phone and watching the office on netflix (my go to netflix series). By 9:45 pm I am ready for bed.

10 pm - lights out!

So there you have it folks! It's a busy day, but I'm so lucky to have this life. I plan on posting another 'day in my life' post from a day that I'm home with Cam next week, so you can compare.

Week in Review + March Favorites

Can you believe it's the 1st of April already? Sorry, I have no witty April fools jokes for you today, but here's a little recap of our not so exciting week:

Monday, Cam and I just took it easy and pretty much stayed in our PJs most of the day after the whirlwind Easter weekend. The rest of the week was filled with work, a few house projects and eating lots of left overs and Easter candy (seriously, the candy needs to stop!). I had a happy mail day and received my new Solly wrap and Covered Goods nursing/carseat cover! I can not wait to test them out with baby #2!

I've slowly been working on organizing Cam's old clothes bins and baby things and putting them in the new baby's room. I'm working on a list of some items I still want to purchase for baby #2 and plan on posting them on the blog soon!

Plans for the weekend include Cam's first swim lesson Saturday morning! I'm anxious to see how he will react to the water. He loves baths, so hoping he just thinks the pool is a big bath! Other than that, finalizing our paint colors (finally) and maybe taking a family outing to the local mall. It's going to be pretty chilly this weekend in IL, so we may just lay low and stay warm!

Since I don't have a very exciting WIR this week, I also wanted to share my March Favorites in this post. One of my goals for the year is to step up my beauty/make up/hair routines and try out some new products. These are just a few products that I've either been using for a while or newly purchased that I've been loving this past month:

1. I recently bought this TRESemme Keratin Smooth conditioner and have been loving it! It leaves my hair really soft and smells amazing!

2. I've been using it's a 10 spray leave in conditioner for a while now and just have to include it with this months favorites because it has helped my dry hair so much this season! I typically spray it on my damp hair after the shower before I comb through and will sometimes spray the ends after I blow dry. It's a little pricey, but you can get a smaller bottle for less. However, I totally think it's worth the price!

3. I recently picked up this L'Oreal Telescopic mascara as a recommendation from a YouTube beauty blogger and I really love it! I use to use Maybelline's Full and Soft, which has a very bushy brush so I was a little nervous about trying this new one that had short, hard bristles. However, I find that the small, harder bristles help to separate my lashes more and it stays on all day with no smudges!

4. Another more recent find was this Maybelline Baby Soft Instant Pore Eraser. I've been putting it on my face after lotion and before BB Cream or foundation and it really helps to smooth out my skin and hide my pores. It leaves my skin feeling like velvet!

5 & 6.  I've been using Neutrogena face lotion for a while now and have really grown to love their skin products. I use this Deep Moisture day cream with spf 20 during the day (duh!) and this Triple Age Repair night cream before I got to bed.

Have you tried any of these products?

I hope you all had a great week and happy Friday!
