Tomorrow is September! The start of my favorite season of the year. September and October bring in cooler temps and all the fall things. The boys start (in person) school next week, so a little nervous about that, but they are so excited. August flew by! It's always an awkward month because we all want it to feel like fall and we start buying all the cardigans and sweaters even though it's still 90 degrees! But, in the anticipation of the best of the best selling out, now is the time to stock up on booties, cardigans, sweaters and all the fall fashion items.
August's top sellers are definitely some of my favorites too! From dresses, to joggers, to booties for fall, all the versatility you need in your wardrobe! Below are the top 10 selling items from the month of August.
Hello world! I'm alive! Well, feeling a little more alive today... If you watched my instagram stories yesterday, you know I came down with strep throat over the weekend which is just about as fun as getting a root canal... No, actually worse because it lasts for DAYS! But, I got some meds and I'm on the road to recovery as we speak.
Also! I plan to post a little recap of my AMAZING girls' trip to the Dominican Republic (Puerto Plata) soon! There is just so much to share!
But, before this month gets away from me, I wanted to share some of my favorites from last month (May). As you all know, I am affiliated with the company Reward Style (which owns the Like to Know it app) and I use affiliate links when possible when I share products, clothing items, accessories, home decor, etc. This allows me to 1) receive a small (I mean tiny) commission when someone clicks through my links and then buys a product through that link. And 2) to track click through rates and purchases so I know what my followers like to see on my feed and on the blog. There's no specific information given as in name or anything like that. I literally only see how many clicks and item received in a specific time frame and how many items were purchased. If you have any other questions about affiliate links and how they are used, etc feel free to email me!
Now, here are the most popular items that were shared on my instagram and on the blog last month (no surprise that the top 4 items are from Amazon!):
1. You all can't get enough of this $15 kimono! And for good reason. It is the perfect summer accessory and also works as a beach/pool cover up!
2. Another Amazon favorite was this $18 palm print dress! I posted this on in my Amazon wish list and never pulled the trigger on it. So, if you purchased this one, let me know how you like it in the comments below!
4. I'm pretty sure you guys sold out this inflatable pool with a slide when I mentioned it was in my Amazon cart last month! Since this one was sold out, I actually ended up purchasing this one instead! I need to get this pump to help blow it up. I'm saving it for Bennett's birthday party at the end of the month!
6. This abstract kimono (out of stock) is probably one of my favorite purchases over the last few months! I just love the colors and it goes with everything! Shop more kimonos from Loft HERE!
7. This crepe shift dress was a popular item from my recent Nordstrom try on session. It is just a classic piece to have in your wardrobe.
8. This $19 off the shoulder ruffle floral print one piece was also a popular item from last month! It was actually the most clicked on item, but only a handful of you purchased it. I will say it is a little 'cheeky' on the behind coverage and maybe not the best suit to wear with the kiddos, but it was the perfect suit for a girls' trip to the beach! Runs true to size (I ordered a Medium, but probably could have ordered a small).
9. A few of you purchased these dark wash, chewed hem jeans (wearing these in the photo above) which are my favorite pair right now. There are only a few sizes left, so snag them on sale now if you haven't!
10. Last, but not least, a few of you loved these block heel pumps (wearing these in the photo above)! These are also on my favorite recent purchases list! Perfect for summer weddings and events!

That's a wrap for May Favorites! Stay tuned for my recap of my girls' trip to the DR coming soon!
Hello, and happy June! I can't believe we are already into the second week of June? How did that happen? It's been a few months since I've done one of these monthly favorites posts and they always seem to be a crowd pleaser, so I decided to bring them back.
First, I'll share the top 5 most clicked on items from last month. If you are new here, I often use affiliate links (more info on what they are here) to link to the products I share on the blog in order to not only receive a small amount of commission (thank you for your support!) if a reader decides to purchase that item, but also in order to track click through rates. If you have any questions about how the affiliate links work, feel free to leave a comment below and I'll be happy to explain!
So, here are the top 5 most clicked on items I shared last month:
#5. AEO Tomgirl Short, Faded Ways - I LOVE these distressed denim shorts so much! They are the perfect length (not too short, not too long) and I get compliments/questions about them every time I wear them. AND they are currently on sale for less than $40!
#4. Target Women's Softest Scoop Tee - Merona™ - Another everyday favorite. These tees are great not only because of the price (only 8 bucks!), but I love the scoop neck style. I'm not a fan of the high/crew neck tee shirts and some of the v-necks are just too low cut! This scoop neck tee is the perfect neckline for hanging out with my boys. PS - They are currently 3 for $20!!
#3. Target Women's Lace Halter One Piece Swimsuit - Sea Angel - I love this one piece swimsuit and can't wait to wear it on our vacation to the outer banks this summer! I was on the hunt for a one piece that would be appropriate to wear around the family and my boys and this one is perfect! Also, very flattering!
#3. Target Women's Softest Scoop Tee - Merona™ - another one mentioned in my Day In the Life post! And I wear them a lot when I'm with the boys because they are so comfortable and (most importantly) washable!
#1. Last but not least, this Bell Sleeve Tee generated the most sales last month! Which is currently on sale for less than $30! I'm so glad you all are on the same ruffle sleeve kick! :)
That's all for this May's favorites!
What do you think will be popular for June? Did you purchase any of these items?
Hi Friends! I thought it would be fun to do a little January Favorites post for you, but I'm going to change it up a bit. Instead of listing my favorite products/items from the past month I'm going to share YOUR favorite items and products from January. Since I typically use affiliate links (mostly rewardstyle) when I mention a product on my blog, I am able to track click through rates as well as purchases of the items I share in my posts. If you don't know what an affiliate link is, check out this post (and come back here when you're done, of course). Of course, I don't want you all to think I pay the bills with this little blog. I may only get commission enough to pay my cell phone bill or a fancy date night out for us each month (and that's on a good month!). But, it's always a fun perk to get paid for doing what you enjoy as a hobby anyways!
January was actually a pretty busy month for LL Styling as far as website traffic, click through rates and sales go. I've been on a better posting schedule this past month, so I think that also helps with traffic and click through rates. Also, all of the products mentioned below I actually own myself! I love recommending products that I already own.
So here are the top 10 most clicked on products from the month of January:
10 | Grace Not Perfection book by Emily Ley: A great book and this one is actually #7 as well I think because I mentioned it in 2 separate posts last month!
9 | Target Valentine's Day mugs (landing page): I mentioned Target's cute V-Day mugs in one of my Friday 5 posts! They still have a great selection!
6 | Nike Sweatshirt: I'm so sad this one is sold out now! I seriously love this sweatshirt and wear mine all the time now. Nordstrom has a great selection of Nike sweatshirts right now. I love this one for spring!
5 | Skip Hop Backpack Diaper Bag: This one was clicked on a lot, but no one bought it! If you are on the market for a backpack diaper bag, this one is so great! Especially, when you have 2 little ones and need both your hands.
4 | Lush Perfect Roll Tab Sleeve Tunic: Another one that was clicked on a lot, but no one purchased. Which means you must already own one because they really are the perfect blouse/tunic! It comes in a lot of different colors and is still on sale for only $27.90!
3 | Nike 'Juvenate' Sneakers: These are the best sneakers. I've been wearing them a lot recently now that it's not snowing as much and the temps have been bearable. I love that you can just slip these on and off so easily and not have to tie and untie the laces!
2 | Scoop Neck Long Sleeve Tee: Another one that was clicked on a lot, but no one purchased! This one is seriously an everyday staple in my wardrobe. Love that I can wear it with leggings! And it's only $18!
1 | V-Neck Long Sleeve Sweater: This one was rightfully so the most clicked on item and it also was purchased by a lot of you as well! I love this sweater! It is so soft and it's light weight so it can easily transition into spring. It runs a bit big, so size down one. I got it in small and it fits perfectly!
And now for the top 10 most purchased products/items from January:
10 & 9 | Grace Not Perfection book by Emily Ley: Since I used 2 different links, this one shows up as number 9 and 10 in my analytics report.
8 | Play-Doh Shapes and Colors: I mentioned in one of my Friday 5 posts how much Camden is really getting into Play-Doh recently! And the love affair is still strong!
7 | L'Oreal Eyelash Mascara Primer: Definitely the most popular beauty item mentioned last month. Worth the extra step and not a bad price!
6 | Play-Doh 10-pack of colors: If you need to build your basic play-doh color collection. Seems as though I have a few toddler mom readers out there! I'm with you mamas!
5 | Reynolds Slow Cooker liners: This product was actually clicked on a lot as well! I'm not surprised it's in the top 5. It is a necessity if you love to make crock pot meals like I do!
4 | Hollywood Beauty Tea Tree Oil Skin & Scalp Treatment: I'm so glad a lot of you purchased this product. If you have a dry scalp problem like I do, this will help you tremendously! It's also great for dry skin in general.
3 | Moroccanoil Blow Dry Concentrate: This stuff is so good! And everyone that clicked on the link ended up buying it, so the product must just sell itself! I've been using it for over a month now and I can definitely tell a difference.
I have struggled with dry/damaged hair for a long time. I'm pretty sure it started in high school when I started highlighting/color treating my hair. I have naturally dry hair and skin and it gets even worse in the winter. I've definitely tried a lot of different shampoos, conditioners and products to help smooth out my dry hair and I have finally found a hand full of products that work! Here are my top 5 favorite dry hair products:
1. Morracanoil Blow Dry Concentrate - This was a more recent product that I've started using. It's great because it helps to smooth out my frizz while blow drying my hair. I put a dime sized amount into wet hair after I shower and then blow dry and style as normal. Sometimes I will finish my dry ends with a small amount just to help smooth out any frizz.
2. Morracanoil Dry Shampoo - Ok, I know you're thinking 'How does dry shampoo help dry hair?' Well, the truth is I don't wash and dry my hair everyday. In fact I may only wash, dry and style my hair 2-3 times a week, especially in the winter when my hair is extra dry (because it strips your hair/scalp of it's natural oils). Therefore, a dry shampoo on my roots is a must in between shampoos. I love this one because it comes in 2 different types specific for blonde/light or brown/dark hair. The blonde/light one has a violet tint to it, which also helps to brighten my dark roots.
3. It's a 10 miracle leave-in conditioner plus keratin - I have been using It's a 10 for years now! It's got to be hands down my favorite hair product. I recently started using the kind with keratin added to it and I can definitely tell a difference. I use it right after I shower to help comb through my wet hair and after it's dry to help smooth out the frizz. From the product description, this product replaces lost protein, protects against heat, detangles, defrizzes, adds shine, seals cuticles for extra silky hair, and restores hydration balance... It does so much for such a little bottle!
4. Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner - I change up my shampoo and conditioner often, but currently I am loving this shampoo and conditioner combo. Coconut milk and oil are remedies for so many things including dry hair. This shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair smooth and I just love the scent!
5. Tea Tree Oil Skin and Scalp Treatment - This was a random product find at Target, actually! I've read about how tea tree oil can really help dry scalp problems so I thought I would give it a try since my scalp always gets so dry and flaky in the winter. All you do is massage a few drops of the oil onto your dry scalp areas at night, and in the morning wash and dry your hair as normal. I have done this a few times and it definitely works! My scalp is no longer flaky!
Do you have any favorite dry hair remedies/products? I'd love to hear your recommendations!
I realize we are almost a full week into May and I'm just now getting around to posting my April favorites! Sorry for the delay!
As you may know, if you read my March favorites post, I am working on amping up my make up/beauty and skin care routines. I've never really been one to splurge on make up or skin care because I never felt the need to do so before I turned 30. I would always rather spend my money on clothes or accessories, etc. Now that I am in my 30's (ughh..) and am a mom of soon to be 2 under 2 (double ughh...) I have been focusing more on keeping my skin looking younger and covering up those nasty under eye circles (ya heard?!).
Over the past month, I've made a few beauty purchases that turned out to be winners! There was actually just one that was so-so...
So, here were my favorite beauty products this past month:
1. stila 'stay all day' waterproof liquid eyeliner - I am an eyeliner queen. As in, I can't leave the house without eyeliner! I have tried so many different kinds and brands and finally decided to splurge on this eyeliner after reading so many positive reviews. I'm so glad I did because it is awesome! It really does stay all day! The thin tip allows me to draw a precise line and the liquid comes out so smooth. Definitely worth the price!
2. NYX mineral matte finishing powder (in light/medium) - I have been looking for a new setting powder and I randomly picked up this one while browsing at Target. I typically only use a BB cream on my face during the day instead of foundation, and this powder helps to set it and leaves my skin with a more 'mette' look.
3. e.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder (in 'Turks and Caicos') - Another random Target purchase that turned into a winner. I don't really contour on a daily basis, but I use the lighter shade as a blush and sometimes I'll use the darker shade to bronze and contour. I love the slight shimmer it gives to my cheeks!
4. Sugar tinted lip treatment SPF 15 (in the shade 'sugar nude') - This was another splurge I bought this month after reading all the great reviews on this product online. I chose the nude shade so that I could wear it more everyday. I love that it has SPF protection and it goes on so smooth! Leaves my lips feeling like butter! I leave this one in my purse and have it on hand all day!
5. NYX butter lip gloss (in the shade 'fortune cookie') - Yet another random Target find! I love this lip gloss and also use it in tandem with my Sugar tinted lip treatment for a more glossy feel. It is the perfect nude color for spring and summer.
My 'so-so' purchase was this Too Faced melted liquified long wear lipstick. I like the applicator and that it feels more like a lip butter than a lipstick. However, the color I got (which was 'nude') is actually a more dark mauve color that is slightly too dark for my skin tone. It could be a shade I might wear on a date night or special occasion, just not everyday.
Last, but not least, my honorable mention is my new acrylic make up organizer! I was so sick of rummaging through my make up bag everyday, that I decided to get this organizer so I can see everything. We have more counter space now in the bathroom, so it fits perfectly on my side of the master sink.
Have you tried any of these products? Happy Friday friends!
Can you believe it's the 1st of April already? Sorry, I have no witty April fools jokes for you today, but here's a little recap of our not so exciting week:
Monday, Cam and I just took it easy and pretty much stayed in our PJs most of the day after the whirlwind Easter weekend. The rest of the week was filled with work, a few house projects and eating lots of left overs and Easter candy (seriously, the candy needs to stop!). I had a happy mail day and received my new Solly wrap and Covered Goods nursing/carseat cover! I can not wait to test them out with baby #2!
I've slowly been working on organizing Cam's old clothes bins and baby things and putting them in the new baby's room. I'm working on a list of some items I still want to purchase for baby #2 and plan on posting them on the blog soon!
Plans for the weekend include Cam's first swim lesson Saturday morning! I'm anxious to see how he will react to the water. He loves baths, so hoping he just thinks the pool is a big bath! Other than that, finalizing our paint colors (finally) and maybe taking a family outing to the local mall. It's going to be pretty chilly this weekend in IL, so we may just lay low and stay warm!
Since I don't have a very exciting WIR this week, I also wanted to share my March Favorites in this post. One of my goals for the year is to step up my beauty/make up/hair routines and try out some new products. These are just a few products that I've either been using for a while or newly purchased that I've been loving this past month:
2. I've been using it's a 10 spray leave in conditioner for a while now and just have to include it with this months favorites because it has helped my dry hair so much this season! I typically spray it on my damp hair after the shower before I comb through and will sometimes spray the ends after I blow dry. It's a little pricey, but you can get a smaller bottle for less. However, I totally think it's worth the price!
3. I recently picked up this L'Oreal Telescopic mascara as a recommendation from a YouTube beauty blogger and I really love it! I use to use Maybelline's Full and Soft, which has a very bushy brush so I was a little nervous about trying this new one that had short, hard bristles. However, I find that the small, harder bristles help to separate my lashes more and it stays on all day with no smudges!
4. Another more recent find was this Maybelline Baby Soft Instant Pore Eraser. I've been putting it on my face after lotion and before BB Cream or foundation and it really helps to smooth out my skin and hide my pores. It leaves my skin feeling like velvet!
