Happy New Year's Eve!

Wow, I can not believe this year is coming to an end. It was THE best year of my life!

I got engaged.
I planned a wedding.
I got a promotion.
I moved in with Bill.
I went to Hawaii for our Honeymoon.

Phew! I am exhausted...

I have already started my New Year resolutions list.
I like to think of it as a New Year goals list...

I will share some of them later this week.
I will tell you that a big part of it is contributing more to the blog.
This blog has been such a wonderful creative outlet for me over the past year.
While I was busy with the wedding planning, I did drop the ball a little.
Now that I am back to a "normal" routine, I will be posting regularly.
I will be posting original content only.
Photos taken by me (such as the ones above). Opinions and thoughts created by me.
I do not want to duplicate what others have created.
I want to create for myself and I want to inspire others.
That's what this little blog of mine is all about!

Here are the top 3 most popular posts of the year:
1 // WW Santa Fe Salad with Chili-Lime Dressing - This little recipe post received over 2,500 pageviews this year! I am planning to post more healthy recipes on the blog very soon!

2 // Wedding Inspiration / Blush + Gold - It's no secret that the popular colors for weddings this past year were blush and gold... this was an inspiration board I posted in February using the colors.

3 // Valentine's Day Soiree! - This was another inspiration board I posted to help plan a Valentine's Day get together with friends.

I hope you all have a happy NYE!
Bill and I are having dinner at Mitchell's Ocean Club tonight! I can't wait!
What are your plans for the evening?
I hope it involves some bubbly and sparkly things!

Gold Wedding Decor // New at the Shop!

Hello Monday!

First, I want you to take a look at the awesome makeover my blog received this weekend! I did this myself! Yes, I spent all evening Saturday updating my blog design. I know, I'm super cool...

Next, I want to share with you a few new items on the LL Styling Etsy Shop!

Now that it's enagement season (yay!), I figure I should get a move on with selling some of my wedding items. I had so much fun crafting for my wedding (photos to come, I promise) that I feel as though I am going through crafting withdrawal now. Maybe I should break out the old can of gold spray paint again! Good lord did I use a lot of that stuff!

Christmas in Review

What a Christmas it was! It is hard to top last year's engagement Christmas, but it came pretty close...

Here are a few snap shots of my Christmas projects and Christmas Eve at my parents' house...

I found the prettiest present boxes at TJ Maxx / Home Goods... I didn't end up using them, but they looked so perfect under the tree!

I was inspired by this pin on Pinterest... I made these chocolate dipped marshmallow pops for a few family members for Christmas! So easy!

Great idea for a kids project too!

Move over Anthropology mugs! I found this beauty at Home Goods! It even came with a saucer. I added a few of my chocolate dipped marshmallow pops and filled it with cocoa mix and gave this as a gift.

{photo via my instagram}

I made cookie press or "spritz" almond flavored cookies! My grandma usually makes these every year, but last year she gave me my own cookie press to continue the tradition. It is so fun and easy! the cookie press came with a bunch of fun inserts for different shapes.

My parents' Christmas tree filled with ornaments from Christmases past... I'm starting to dig the colored lights again!

Louie the Bichon and his Christmas Eve bow tie... Adorbs!

My moms nutcracker collection proudly displayed on the mantel every year.

I gave my mom a holiday inspired bouquet and filled a vase with water and cranberries. Easy and festive hostest gift!

Christmas Eve photo opp... I got my sparkly necklace from Target. I also decided to get some low lights the last time I got my hair done. I think I'm ready to go more natural with my hair color...

Just a few of my presents from "Santa" aka the parents that still think I'm 12 and need to buy me gifts! Monogram gloves and blouse are from Old Navy.

I hope you all had a Merry & Bright Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I wanted to post something today in honor of the best holiday of the year and to give thanks for everything that has happened to me over the past year.

One year ago today, my best friend asked me to marry him and ever since I have been the happiest girl in the world!

Take a look at the Engagement story {here}...

In one year we have planned a wedding, got married, went on our honeymoon, moved in together and are now spending our first Christmas together as a married couple. I will post a full recap of Christmas soon.

In the meantime, I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas filled with Love, Laughter and Happily Ever After! :)

Remember to be thankful for all the love that surrounds you today.

God Bless!

Our Helicopter Ride Over Maui! {Video}

I've been meaning to post some photos from our honeymoon in Hawaii, but there are so many that it is taking me a while to edit and decide which ones I want to share. So, I'm sharing the video below that I edited of our helicopter ride over the island of Maui!

I'm still learning how to use the video function of my Nikon D5100, so sorry that it goes in and out of focus sometimes! I'm also still learning how to use the video editing software I recently downloaded... But, I thought it was a good first try!

The video doesn't even do it justice! It is gorgeous there!

Weekend Review + Bacon Wrapped Party Appetizer Recipe

Another weekend flew by! We got some snow and sleet in Friday night, which made for a perfect cozy, lazy Saturday...

Friday night, Bill and I attended an ugly sweater Christmas party. I used some wire ribbon to tie a bow in my hair for some extra festive flair :)

I made one of my favorite holiday apps to bring to the party: bacon wrapped blue cheese stuffed dates!
So yummy!
{Recipe at the bottom of this post}

Saturday was a very lazy day. I had a lunch date with a friend and then spent the remainder of the day on the couch watching Mad Men on Netflix. At night, Bill joined me in my Netflix marathon for some Breaking Bad. We are really into the series and it is so hard to stop watching once you start! The series is so good!

Plus, who wants to go out in the cold when you have this cozy environment at home :)

Sunday, we had a lunch date at Rooster's. I just love their wings!

I got a salad with BBQ wings thinking it would make me feel like I was eating healthy...

The rest of Sunday consisted of cleaning the house, organizing and getting items ready from my wedding to post on my Etsy shop! Stay tuned for more on that...

Here is the recipe for my favorite party app:

Bacon Wrapped Blue Cheese Stuffed Dates
{from allrecipes.com}

You'll need:

* 1 pound of sliced bacon, cut in half
* 1 pound of pitted dates
* 4 ounces blue cheese crumbles
* wooden toothpicks

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Slice dates in half, and open them up. Pinch off pieces of blue cheese, and place them into the center of the dates. Close the halves of the dates, and wrap a half-slice of bacon around the outside. Secure each one with a toothpick. Arrange in a baking dish or on a baking sheet with sides to catch any grease.

Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the bacon is crisp. Turn dates over after the first 20 minutes for even cooking.

(I usually let them dry on a plate lined with a few layers of paper towels for a few minutes to soak up some grease.)

Serve warm on a festive platter! :)

I'll be back tomorrow with some ideas for Holiday Dresses!

4 Favorites // Winter Cozy...

Yes, every post this month will be Christmas related :)

I'm linking up with my girls Ashlyn of Let It Be Beautiful and Kristin of Fancy Things for this week's 4 Favorites. The theme this week is Winter Inspiration. I decided to go more towards the Holiday Inspiration theme bc it's been on my mind! :)

It's been pretty chilly around these parts and lately, all I've wanted to do after a long day of work is curl up by the fire, sip hot cocoa and watch a Christmas flick... Anyone else with me?

ONE // ok, ok... You've seen these mugs all over the blog-o-sphere... But, they are perfect for a festive cup of hot chocolate!

TWO // I purchased these socks from Old Navy last weekend when they were having their sale and now they are not on the website anymore :/ Must have been a popular item! I am all about the cozy socks while bumming it around the house. For more cozy sock options click here

THREE // I mean... This movie is an obvious choice around this time of year... I just love Will Farrell!

FOUR // My new favorite holiday decor accessory is the flameless candle! They even have scented ones. I decorated our mantel with these.

Hop on over to the link up by clicking the button below:

Speaking of the holiday spirit, here are some snapshots of our Christmas decor around the house:

This banner was left over from our Holiday Cocktail Party last year. I decided to put it on the tree.

This ornament was given to us as a wedding gift! Something to cherish for the rest of our lives :)

Of course, we need to have a Brutus ornament to represent our Buckeyes. I got the gold pineapple on our honeymoon in Hawaii.

Our mantel! I used the gold "R" from our wedding in place of a wreath. I like it for now. I just purchased a boxwood wreath that I may be decorating to replace it... we'll see!

I just love these stockings and stocking hangers form Target!

The photo on the mantel is the one we took right after we got engaged almost 1 year ago on Christmas day :)

Happy holiday decorating!
