Showering Baby Camden

All I keep thinking about after baby Camden's first shower this past Sunday, is how lucky I am to have such a great group of friends! Even though I never had sisters growing up, I feel as though they have all become like sisters to me. The hostesses were 2 of my best friends from college and the attendees were all my high school and college friends. 

The shower was held at La Chatelaine in Old Worthington, which is a local French style bakery and cafe. They reserved a private room in the back and decorated everything so cute!

I loved the "Pregnant Punch" and "Not Pregnant Punch"... Hey, if I can't drink, someones got to!

The hostess pretty much DIY'd everything. She painted the ball jars gold and mint and filled them with fresh hydrangeas. The tables were so pretty!

The food was catered by La Chatelaine. They served mini sandwiches, cheese & fruit and salad. 

Instead of cards, guests brought books and wrote a little note inside. I loved watching the little book shelf fill up by the end of the shower.

I even had my own special "Mommy To Be" chair :)

After eating and mingling, we played a few fun games (like guess the famous baby's parents).

So intense... Nope, I didn't win...

Another favorite game of mine was the "Words for the Wee Hours". Guests wrote encouraging (read: funny) notes on diapers for our late night changes. It was so fun to go through them all and laugh afterwards!

Guests got to take home some yummy macaroons (from my favorite) Pistacia Vera. 

I just love these girls!! I am excited that Camden has so many loving "aunties"!!

I had such a fun time coming home and going through all his goodies!

Now, where to put all this??

I can't believe we have 2 more showers and 2 months to go until Camden is here!

He is definitely going to be a little spoiled :)

Weekend Recap

What a fabulous weekend it was!

Friday night, I went over to a friend's house for a little girl time. We had dinner outside on her patio and had s'mores for dessert. The weather has been perfect recently!

Saturday morning was spent in my PJs, sipping coffee and being inspired by Pinterest.

Saturday afternoon, I had a hair appointment and ran some errands. The bump was feeling extra big, so I had to document... I can't believe I'm 30 weeks along already! 10 weeks to go!

We also picked up the glider for Camden's nursery on Saturday!

It is from Babies R Us and it is so comfy! It was important to me to be able to try it out in person before we purchased one. I can definitely say that I am very excited to spend a lot of hours in this chair in the near future! { Full nursery reveal to come in October! }

I had my first shower to celebrate baby Camden on Sunday with the best friends ever!

Everything was mint, gold and cream! My friend DIY'd a lot and everything turned out so cute! I will post more detail pics tomorrow :)

I had such a fun time sorting through all Cam's loot last night! He is so lucky to have so many loving "aunties" in his life!

Whoo hoo for Friday!

It has been a long week and I'm so ready for the weekend! I have my first baby shower this weekend hosted by some of my best friends and 2 of my bridesmaids (my family is throwing me one on October). I can't believe it's already here! This month has flown by!

Here's what I'm loving recently:

1 | My 2015 Day Designer came this week and I am so excited to use it! There is a lot more to this planner than meets the eye. I am planning on posting a full review soon!

2 | I also got my white elephant designs monogrammed mug! I just broke down and purchased one after seeing so many on my IG feed. I just love the gold against white!

3 | Confession: I snagged the zara blanket scarf from last year off of ebay for $18. I don't think it's the real zara one, but I love it! It literally is the size of a blanket. I watched this youtube tutorial to learn how to tie/wrap it and I'm just waiting for these temps to drop to try it out!

4 | I have been dreaming about purchasing these Steve Madden riding boots for a while. I bought a pair that is very similar a few years ago, but they have a wedge heel and I'm just not sure I can rock the heels this year with my big 'ol belly. I don't want to splurge since I have a pair very similar, so I was thinking of trying out this pair from Target. AND right now Target is having a buy one, get one 50% off sale... So, there may be a trip to the boot isle for me very soon...

5 | Ever since Katie mentioned that you can get a chai tea latte WITH Pumpkin at Starbucks, I have been hooked! I gotta say bloggies, I like it better than the #PSL (gasp!!)

Our Home | Fall Decor

I always love to see glimpses of other bloggers' homes. 

Maybe I'm nosy, but I just love to see how other people live and how the decorate.

There are a lot of aspects of our house that I would like to change or update, but I'm getting to a point where I am happy and comfortable in our little ranch style home. 

I've added a few Fall decor touches here and there that are quite simple and easy to do!

 I found the perfect red berry wreath a few years ago and am always excited to put it up around this time. I added a burlap bow to make it feel more "Fall" like. Great thing about this wreath is that it can be carried into Winter and Christmas.

Bill bought our home a little over 3 years ago and one of the deciding factors was the great character of the fireplace in the family room. I just love it! It really makes our home feel more cozy in the cooler seasons. I added some Fall flare to the mantel from Hobby Lobby.

Bill's parents gave us a bucket full of gords and mini pumpkins from their garden. I've been having fun decorating with them! 

I found some mason jar candles from Hobby Lobby along with the flameless candles and decorative leaves and branches.  

I just love this Lindsay Letters print I found at Hobby Lobby. It goes perfectly over the mantel. I was struggling for a while trying to decide what to put there. I had a wreath there for a bit, but didn't love it. 

On our dining room table, I added some of the mini pumpkins and gords around my favorite Bath & Body Works Fall candle. I got our ivory burlap table runner from etsy. 

 Over the weekend, Bill and I picked up some mums for the front porch. I love decorating the porch with colorful mums in the Fall. They are so easy to maintain! 

Can't wait to add some pumpkins to the porch as well. 

We got a few smaller potted red mums to place around the iron bench for our front porch (I still need to find a good bench cushion). I just love the deep red color of these!

Wednesday Wishlist | Nursery Edition

We are getting so close to being done with the nursery!

There's just a few decor items I want to purchase to complete the room.

So far, we've completed the paint, added star decals on one wall, put together the crib and dresser and found an awesome white shag rug at a local home goods store called At Home (formerly known as Garden Ridge). We also ordered the glider! I'm excited to add this to the room so I can just sit and admire it!

I am working on organizing Camden's closet and drawers at the moment. I found the cutest closet dividers on etsy!

Next up is hanging some framed prints and some shelving for his books. 

Here are some items that I want to purchase next month to complete the decor:

2 | white and grey hamper

3 | white and grey striped crib sheet and matching bumper

4 | 'Star Light Star Bright' print from etsy

5 | "C" pillow and star pillow

6 | grey knit pouf

I was thinking if I'm really motivated, I can try to DIY the pillows... We will see about that!

Can't wait to reveal the finished product!

Blogger on a Budget

I posted my Fall Fashion Wishlist a few weeks ago and I have been craving some fall wardrobe staples ever since. We are trying not to splurge for the rest of the year to save some $$ for baby Rumple's arrival. 

Instead of spending hundreds of $$'s at Nordstrom (which I could easily do in a heartbeat... don't tempt me!), I decided to see what I could find at Old Navy. I didn't want to buy any more maternity wear, so I was really looking for some longer shirts, blouses and sweaters to wear with my maternity leggings and jeans. 

I found some great fall fashion staples that were a much more reasonable price than their Nordstrom counterpart...

I love these pieces for layering and they are each under $20!

I think for the month of October, I will be on a shopping freeze (baby items only), so I'm hoping these pieces get me through the the next month. I really need to start getting more creative with my wardrobe.
