'Sprinkled With Love' Baby Sprinkle

I had such a wonderful day yesterday 'sprinkling' 3 of my close friends with love (and diapers... and donuts)! All 3 friends are due with their second babies this summer! As an excuse to get together and have some girl talk, we decided to throw them a little baby sprinkle! As requested from the guests of honor, there were no gifts, but everyone brought either a pack of wipes or diapers for each mama to be. Of course, we couldn't leave them empty handed, so we all pitched in and gave them each a gift certificate to their favorite nail salon for some baby-mama pampering. Which from their reactions, was just what the doctor ordered!

We decided on a brunch time shower and went with the 'sprinkle' theme for decorations. I can not take credit for these awesome decorations!! I simply contributed my home, the photos you see above and the deviled eggs... mmmmm...

The Sprinkled with Love' banner was found on etsy as well as the framed sign. The sprinkle donuts were ordered from a local donut shop called Amy's Donuts (I am still dreaming about them... they were so good!). Also on the menu were bagels with cream cheese, bacon, cheesy potatoes and individual fruit and yogurt parfaits in mini ball jars. And of course the coffee and mimosas were flowing (non-alcoholic for the pregnant ladies)!

I truly love the fact that my close friends are going through this same stage of life. I think as a mother, or really at any stage of life, it is so important to have close friendships with other like minded women. Im so glad we were able to celebrate these beautiful mamas for the day!

Weekend Recap

What a fun weekend it was! Saturday I co-hosted a shower for one of my good friends at my house and everything was so adorable! A very creative and crafty friend of mine made all the decor for the shower so all I had to do was set it up! I did help come up with the ideas for the finger foods and made most of it as well. The theme was vintage story books and I think it was pulled together quite nicely! Here are a few pics I took of the food and decor...

One of my favorite details was the food labels my friend made with book titles that went along with the menu...

Definitely a Pinterest worthy affair!

On Sunday, Cam and I joined my parents and some extended family members at the Columbus zoo. This was Cam's 3rd trip to the zoo this summer. He is becoming a pro! He loves watching the animals!

I still can't believe it's August already! Only a few more weeks to really enjoy summer... I better get working on completing my Summer Bucket List!

Confetti Baby Shower

I had so much fun planning and hosting my friend's confetti themed baby shower this past Sunday!

I got the idea for the theme from this invite from minted.com which were sent to guests.

The shower took place at the Barn community room here in Dublin, Ohio. It was the perfect space for the shower with big windows and lots of natural light.

I definitely can not take credit for all the cute decor. My friend, Meggan is the talented individual that made all the confetti garland and the cute "Baby Ella" banner and cake topper. My friend Kelly made the adorable cake!

I got the cookie favors from a local sister cookie making duo called Nanny & Weebs and they turned out just perfect!

I just loved this theme and the mama also really enjoyed it!

I can NOT wait to meet this little lady come end of March!!

Friday 5...

What?! Friday already? This week flew by!
Bill was out of town for work for a few nights this week, so my parents came over both nights in the evening so I could go to the gym, run errands and I even got to have a dinner out with a friend! Busy week, but I was able to get a lot accomplished.

1 | I am hosting a baby shower for my best friend this weekend and I've been busy planning, preparing and crafting. Here's the invite I chose from minted.com:

The theme is confetti and I'm basing the color scheme off of the invite. My crafty friend is helping with decor and I can't wait to see it all put together on Sunday! I will plan to post some pics of the details on Monday.

2 | I was able to get to the gym twice this week and am planning on going again tomorrow morning. It has been rough getting back into working out and running, but it really feels good when I'm finished! I'm loving my new active compression leggings from Old Navy.

3 | I received my first bundle of diapers and wipes from the Honest Co. last week and am excited to start using them. I really like that you can schedule the shipments ahead of time and they come right to your door so you don't have to mess with buying them at the store. Plus, how cute are those patterns?

4 | I'm constantly struggling to find the perfect easy and healthy breakfast. As of recent, I've been making my favorite berry protien smoothie or an english muffin with reduced fat PB and sliced bananas. I found this link for easy portable breakfast ideas on pinterest and am excited to try out some new recipes.

5 | Speaking of healthy, how cute are these peanut butter stuffed chocolate football treats? I think I may have t make these for Super Bowl Sunday!

That's all I got for this Friday 5! Happy Weekend!!

Weekend Recap

Another weekend flew by!

Friday night my parents brought us dinner and came over to help with some nursery projects and to put together some baby gear. They also surprised us with our car seat!

Saturday morning was spent sipping (decaf) coffee in Camden's room and pretending he was playing on his little football play mat :) Now that the glider is in and the room is almost finished, I just love spending my mornings in there.

Nursery update: One of the last items for the nursery (this grey pouf) is on back order! Once I get it and add the bedding, it will be complete and I will post the reveal!

Bill went down on campus on Saturday to tailgate with some friends for the game which gave me the opportunity to run some errands and clean the house a bit. The rest of the evening was spent very comfortably on the couch! I am realizing as I get closer to baby Camden arriving, my energy levels continue to drop. I have to force myself to relax and know that it's my body telling me to rest!

Sunday I attended my second baby shower that was hosted by my mom's best friend. A lot of my mom's side of the family was there along with Bill's mom, sister and sister in law. The theme was 'tea for two' and everything was so adorable!

{Bill's family: SIL, Mom, Bill, Me and Bill's sister}

{my grandma, me and my mom}

I am so lucky to have had FOUR (including the baby) generations attend the baby shower!

We are definitely feeling very loved after this weekend. I can't believe we have another shower in a few weeks! This child will be very spoiled with stuff and love for sure!!

Tonight we have part 2 of our childbirth class after work... Wish us luck! :)

Showering Baby Camden

All I keep thinking about after baby Camden's first shower this past Sunday, is how lucky I am to have such a great group of friends! Even though I never had sisters growing up, I feel as though they have all become like sisters to me. The hostesses were 2 of my best friends from college and the attendees were all my high school and college friends.

The shower was held at La Chatelaine in Old Worthington, which is a local French style bakery and cafe. They reserved a private room in the back and decorated everything so cute!

I loved the "Pregnant Punch" and "Not Pregnant Punch"... Hey, if I can't drink, someones got to!

The hostess pretty much DIY'd everything. She painted the ball jars gold and mint and filled them with fresh hydrangeas. The tables were so pretty!

The food was catered by La Chatelaine. They served mini sandwiches, cheese & fruit and salad.

Instead of cards, guests brought books and wrote a little note inside. I loved watching the little book shelf fill up by the end of the shower.

I even had my own special "Mommy To Be" chair :)

{ Seriously, look at that plate... you think I was hungry or something?! }

After eating and mingling, we played a few fun games (like guess the famous baby's parents).

So intense... Nope, I didn't win...

Another favorite game of mine was the "Words for the Wee Hours". Guests wrote encouraging (read: funny) notes on diapers for our late night changes. It was so fun to go through them all and laugh afterwards!

Guests got to take home some yummy macaroons (from my favorite) Pistacia Vera

I just love these girls!! I am excited that Camden has so many loving "aunties"!!

I had such a fun time coming home and going through all his goodies!

Now, where to put all this??

I can't believe we have 2 more showers and 2 months to go until Camden is here!

He is definitely going to be a little spoiled :)
