Friday Finds | Vol. 6

Happy Friday, friends! I'm going to go ahead and do an old school 'phone dump' for this edition of Friday Finds. Do you all remember when that was a thing? I feel like I have so many things to share, but forget what they are when Friday rolls around. But, then I look at my phone and am reminded by my pictures!

+ If you follow me on instagram or read my blog post yesterday, you know I just received these designer dupe sunglasses and are in love with them (yes, we get it Lindsay!)! The lace up sweatshirt I'm wearing is actually a fall 2017 purchase, but it is still in stock in a few pretty colors perfect for spring! The jeans are my new high waisted distressed pair from AE (there's a BOGO 50% off all jeans promotion happening now!). I'm convinced I will only buy high waisted pants for the rest of my life! And these loafers were probably the best $15 spent over the past year! Snag yourself a pair for spring!

+ Sorry for the awful mirror selfie and the filter from IG stories, but I forgot to save a normal photo of this! I was able to sneak away during nap time last weekend for a little try on session at Nordstrom Rack. They have a TON of great jeans on sale right now! I really loved these STS Blue raw hem distressed jeans (which are on sale for less than $40!), but decided I didn't need another pair... But, now I'm second guessing myself and may have to order them! The tee I'm wearing is Madewell on sale for $16! They don't have the black and white stripe one online, but I'm loving all the solid colors too. This tee runs TTS and is so soft!

+ This week I ordered and received this $10 sweater in the mail today! I got the pink color which I thought would be perfect for spring with white jeans. I sized up to a medium for a loose, comfy fit. It is really soft and not too heavy. I also got this sweater and these $8 mirrored sunglasses. Yes, I think I'm set with sunglasses for the spring/summer! Hoping to take some outfit pics over the weekend with these! Stay tuned!

+ Also, Old Navy was having a great sale earlier in the week so I snagged this dress for spring (a possible Easter dress?) and these cute little bunny button ups for the boys for Easter!

+ I finally changed out our front door mat (from our xmas one lol!) and the wreath for spring! I had a few questions about the wreath on my instastories and unfortunately, it is no longer available (from Target a few years ago). But, I linked to a few similar options and some other pretty spring wreaths below!

+ And your random recipe for this week... Sheet pan root veggies and apple chicken sausage! Literally all you do is chop everything (I used sweet potatoes, yukon gold potatoes, zucchini and shredded carrots), throw it on a sheet pan with some olive oil, salt and pepper. I baked at 400 for 35 mins, but our oven tends to lean on the 'cool' side, so you might want to check after 30 mins or so. I'm all about the easy and healthy meals for din din!

And because I feel like I haven't shared very many pictures of the boys recently, here's your fix of cute toddler boys!

That's all for this Friday Finds! Happy weekend!

Friday Five (5 Items I Wear on Repeat)

Happy Friday, friends! Bill and I are off to Charleston for a quick little weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary (4 years!) and my birthday on Saturday! I am so excited! We have reservations for dinner both tonight and Saturday and even reservations for brunch on Saturday morning. There are so many cute restaurants and little cafes on my list to visit! I don't think we will hit all the spots on my list, but hopefully most of them!

It's been a minute since I've posted my Friday Five and this week I just wanted to share these 5 wardrobe items that I've been wearing on repeat for the past month...

1) These loafers: Seriously, the best $15 I've spent in a long time. I have them in black, which looks like is sold out online, but I'm loving the dark grey color and the blush!

2) This cable knit cardigan (SO cozy!): I wear this one all the time! And it's long enough to wear with leggings!

3) This lace up sweatshirt: So warm and cozy! Perfect to throw on with jeans!

4) These joggers: Just like leggings are considered acceptable pants to wear in public... I am a firm believer that joggers are the acceptable sweatpants to wear in public ;)

5) These jeans: I am a BIG fan of Express jeans. I have a handful of them and this mid rise, legging dark wash pair are my favorite currently. Like I wear them on the daily and they are super comfortable!

What are your wardrobe staples currently?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend and happy shopping!

Friday Five

Happy Friday, friends! I'm so glad the weekend is finally here. It's been a long week in our house with contractors in and out everyday working on our great room (if you're new around here, we have some shadow boxes we are having filled in). They told us on Monday it would only take them 3 days to complete the project, but it turns out they are finishing up today. We expected it to take about a week, so just glad it is done! We have painters scheduled to start painting on Wednesday of next week! I am so excited!!

Anyways, it's been a bit of a juggle getting the boys in and out of the house everyday so they aren't there while the contractors are working. I've been so tired at the end of the night that I've been going to bed by like 9pm which is so early for me!

I wanted to share five things that are inspiring me lately, and this week I broke it down by category. Enjoy!

1. Recipes/Food: This week I barely had the time to cook anything, so it was my trusty old crockpot to the rescue! I made my favorite BBQ chicken chili for like the 3rd time in the past month... I can't get enough! Soups and chilis always sound good in the fall (even if the temps don't feel like fall yet). I really want to try out this skinnytaste recipe for Crock Pot Chicken Enchilada Soup! It sounds delicious AND has great macros (over 30 grams of protein per serving!).

2. Style/Fashion: I found the most cozy, comfy, chunky knit cocoon cardigan this week and I'm so glad the temps dropped yesterday so I could wear it!

3. Lifestyle/Home: Along with the other updates we are making to our home, I'd like to replace some of the light fixtures on our first floor. Specifically in our kitchen over our table. I've had my eye on this one for a while now and I like that it has more of a casual feel for the kitchen table. I never knew how difficult it could be to choose a light fixture! There are so many options out there!

4. Motherhood/Boys: I know it's not even Halloween yet, but my mind has already been turning about Christmas! I think I'm just so excited that we will be in our own home on Christmas Eve and morning with our boys! Having a 3 year old and a 1 year old this Christmas will be soooo fun! Of course, I've already started scheming their matching jammies. There are just too many to choose from! Here are a few I'm loving from Old Navy:

5. Link Love :

  1. If you are looking for some fresh new tops for fall under 50 bones, my girl Cristin has got you covered.
  2. Lindsay over at A Dash of Pretty recently had the sweetest little baby girl and is still rocking her blog game! I absolutely loved her post about how all of us new mamas need to give ourselves some grace about our post baby bods. Personally, I think she is rocking her off the shoulder sweater!
  3. How cute is Laura's Monday Momiform?? And I love her daily affirmations that she has her little daughters repeat everyday before school!

That's all I have for this week's Friday Five! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Friday Five

Hey Friday! So glad to see you! First of all... did you guys know it was OCTOBER? Wow, that came up fast! This is probably my favorite 3 months of the whole year! First, Halloween which is so much more fun now with the boys. November is a busy month in the Rumple household with our anniversary on the 9th, my birthday on the 11th and Camden's on the 20th. And then it's Thanksgiving and THEN it's Christmas time!!! I'm going to try my best to savor this time because I always feel like these last months of the year go by so quickly! And then it's winter...whaa whaaaaaa....

Camden was sick a few days this week with a bad cold/virus, but he was able to bounce back after only a few days. Kids are so resilient! I feel like I've been playing catch up with work, house chores and blogging the last half of the week, but I'm looking forward to the weekend! Here are 5 things that got me through the week:

1. Since it's been warmer out, I've been on an iced coffee kick again. I really need to reign in my Starbucks addiction! I swear having that rewards app on your phone feels like it's just monopoly money or something. But, I started ordering my iced coffee with coconut milk and it is sooooo good! Who knew?! And yes, I treated myself to a venti iced coffee and chick-fil-a breakfast when Camden was home sick on Wednesday. I kind of fell off the 'diet' wagon, but I'm back on! It's crazy how one day of bad eating can really throw you off!

2. I found the perfect October nail color: Essie Gel Couture in 'Model Clicks'. I waited until October to go really dark with the polish. I feel like it's the best month of the year to have really dark nails!

3. My friend (Jen) opened her own online fashion boutique called Middle Sister Boutique and I am loving everything she has in her shop! You can follow her on instagram here or her facebook page here. Or you can browse and order through her online store here (there is a drop down menu at the top to switch categories). I ordered (and paid for, not sponsored!) this over sized plaid swing dress and I'm loving it! It also has pockets! I feel like it's the perfect holiday dress! (I am wearing a size medium for reference, but could have done a small probably. So, I would say this dress runs true to size).

Speaking of the holidays, I'm hoping to schedule our family photos in the next few weeks. I'm actually contemplating taking them myself (eeek). I just have to figure out our outfits. I always seem to be able to throw together our outfits the week before, but this year I'm struggling with what I want to wear. I was also thinking about writing a post about dressing for family photos. Would this be something you would like or would be helpful? Let me know in the comments!

4. Our contractors are finally starting on our house next week! If you've been following along, you know that we have some work we want completed in our main living area/great room before we paint. So, we've been living with this horrible lovely mustard yellow paint color all over the first floor of our house for almost 7 months now! Once the contractors complete the work (they are filling in large shadow boxes, hard to explain. Watch my instastories for updates!), then it will finally be time to paint! I'm so excited to have this project completed! I was hoping it would be done by Christmas, fingers crossed!

5. We are headed to Bill's hometown tomorrow morning to help celebrate his nephew's 1st birthday! There were 3 babies born last year (all boys!) in the Rumple family! Bennett was the first and we will have one more 1st birthday party in early December. I just love me a baby with a smash cake!!

That's all I got for this week's Friday Five!
What made you happy this week?

Friday Five + Shopbop Sale Picks

Hi friends! Happy Friday! I thought I'd bring back the old Friday Five posts and share with you 5 things I am loving from this week. I also wanted to share my picks from the Shopbop sale (which ends tonight!) that I'm sure you've heard about at this point if you follow other fashion/style bloggers. For now, let's get right into my five things from this week:

1. So, I finally set up a Poshmark account/closet and I'm having so much fun posting some of my gently used (and some hardly worn) items from my closet. I actually made a handful of sales already! It's so easy because they email you the postage label, so you just pack up your items (I use old boxes from online shopping/amazon etc) and take it to your nearest post office drop off spot and you're done! Poshmark collects money from the buyer and you can easily deposit it into your bank account or use it as credit to shop on their app/site. And no, this is totally not sponsored, I just really love using it! (If you are on Poshmark, find my closet: @lindsllstyling)

2. I've been working on adding more protein to my diet and tracking my macros as a part of the fitness and diet plan that Abby from Mom With Muscles Blog made up for me. Since I've been tracking my carbs, fats and protein everyday, I'm realizing how hard it is to hit my protein goal for the day (I have no problem with the carbs and fats, go figure). So, I've been searching on Pinterest for easy, healthy, protein packed recipes and I came across this turkey stuffed peppers recipe and decided to tweak it a bit. Instead of brown rice, I used quinoa (extra protein!) and subbed the tomato sauce for some mild salsa. I also didn't use as much of the chicken broth as it calls for and grated fresh parmesan cheese instead of cheddar cheese. So, yea I didn't really stick to the recipe exactly, but they turned out SO good!!

3. We have booked our anniversary/my birthday trip in November to.... CHARLESTON! I am SO excited because I've wanted to visit Charleston for a long time now! There are so many bloggers that rave about the city! Of course, I've been pinning all the Charleston travel guides, but if you've been or live there, please leave comments with your suggestions on places to eat/visit/etc. I can not wait!

4. We are going to visit a local fire station with Camden tonight! It's kind of a long story, but basically my grandma won a 'dinner for four with the fire fighters' at a charity event last month. She knew that Camden is OBSESSED with fire trucks, fire fighters, etc (hint hint on his Halloween costume this year), so she knew she had to bid on it! Well, she won the prize and offered it to us! We are meeting at the fire station tonight and they are going to give us a tour of the fire station and Camden will get to sit in a real fire truck! I don't know if he will be excited or nervous?! Wish us luck! Of course, I will post pictures!

5. Ok, now for the shopbop sale! I'm sure you've heard about it if you follow other bloggers. The deal is you get 20% off all orders under $500 with code EOTS17, or you get 25% off your order over $500 with the same code! Shopbop is a great site to order your higher end, what I like to call, 'investment' pieces. So, if you've held off on buying one of your fall wardrobe investment pieces, now is your chance! Another great thing about Shopbop, is that you can use your Amazon Prime account to get free 2 day shipping! The sale ends tonight at midnight, so shop today!

Here are my picks from the sale:

Happy Shopping and TGIF!

Friday Five

Hi guys! Welcome back to another Friday Five post! Here are five things I'm loving from this (rather short) week:

1. I just picked up this lip gloss from my local Target and I am loving it! I got it in shade 'radiant rose' and it is the perfect mauve/pink for my skin tone. It also lasts a lot longer than any other drug store lip gloss I've owned. Like I don't have to reapply every 10 minutes.

2. This palm tree sweater is oh-so-comfy and perfect for those chilly, rainy summer days. I paired mine with these shorts yesterday and I love the combo! It is currently on sale for less than $15, so go snag it before it's sold out!

3. If you follow my instastories, you know I recently got my hair cut and I'm finally figuring out how to style it. I absolutely love the shorter 'do and I think I may keep it this length going forward! A lot less maintenance!

4. I found a few more 'mom-bod' friendly one-piece suits from Target that I plan to wear on our upcoming family trip to Outer Banks (affiliate links here and here). They are really flattering and perfect for family vacation with the boys!

5. I think we are taking the big boy bed plunge this weekend with Camden! We have a double mattress that we are just planning to put on his floor for now. I picked up these sheets (also ordered these sheets bc they were out of stock at the store) and this quilt for his bedding. I'm also planning to order these sheets because he loves trucks, planes and all things that go at the moment, so I know he will love them! Any tips on making this transition from fellow toddler mamas out there?? I'm a bit nervous!

Happy Friday!! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Jumping right into the 5 things that are making me happy from this week:

1. My new Day Designer arrived this week and I'm so excited to start using it! There's nothing better than a fresh, new, blank planner! I just love these planners because I can use the monthly calendar for event reminders and blog post planning and I can plan out my entire day by the hour on the daily tabs. Plus, when I saw this pretty gold dot pattern, I couldn't say no!

2. I just received this watch and these beaded stretch bracelets in the mail and I'm loving the combo together. The perfect bright colors for summer and of course I love anything with marble!

3. I just ordered and received this ceramic round brush from Amazon and I love it! The large, ceramic barrel really helps to smooth out my hair while blow drying.

4. I have my eye on this one piece suit for our upcoming family vacation to the outer banks in July! Give me all the off the shoulder, bright colored, one piece suits please! And for only $18! Say what?!

5. I'm currently planning Bennett's 1st birthday party and it's just so hard for me to think he is going to be ONE at the end of this month (cue all the cry face emojis!!). There are so many cute fishing theme party decorations on etsy! I already got him this shirt to wear. Now thinking about ordering this highchair banner and this garland... I'm having a hard time deciding what I need to purchase and what I can DIY. We are just having family over for dinner on the 24th, so there is really no need to go 'over board'... I need to 'reel' myself in... get it... see what I did there? 😉

Happy Fri-Yay!!!

Friday 5

jeans (less than $70!) | ruffle sleeve top | shoulder bag (less than $50!) | sandals | monogram necklace

So, it's Friday.... And this week flew by! And I am a terrible blogger apparently. I am working on this time management thing! I just felt like I was playing catch up all week after the past weekend? The house chores are endless, work is busy, the boys are non-stop... Life is just busy right now! But, I do want to make more time for this little space of mine, so hoping to be better about it next week...

On another note, here are the top 5 things I've been loving this week:

1. My Go-To Starbucks Drink of Choice = Iced coffee with hazelnut (which substitutes the 'classic' flavor) and almond milk.... I could drink this all day every day! I get it... the hazelnut flavoring has a lot sugar, but I feel better about using almond milk. My coffee has been getting me through the days recently!

2. Warm Sunny Days - It's finally starting to feel like summer! It is getting me all sorts of excited to spend my days off with the boys outside. I'm hoping to explore a lot of new parks in our area, take them to the zoo, splash pads, etc! Even just hanging out in our back yard in the afternoon just lifts my spirits!

3. This Dress - I ordered this dress as soon as I laid eyes on it! It is the perfect summer dress! I mean, one shoulder, ruffles, floral print... so cute! I just received it in the mail and it fits like a glove (true to size, FYI).

4. This ruffle sleeve tee - I posted this top in IG yesterday and it got a lot of likes! It is the softest top and runs a bit baggy, so size down! I got a small, but probably could have gotten an XS. You will probably see this tee on repeat for the next few months #sorrynotsorry...

5. Instastories filters - Ok, Ok... so they're not as great as snapchat's, but we are getting there! I'm just looking forward to being able to post everything on one app! I may have to ween myself off snapchat... anyone else feeling this way?

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Friday 5

Happy Friday! We made it to the end of another week!

The weather was a bit chilly the past week, so my kids are getting a bit of cabin fever. Hoping the weather shapes up this weekend so we can get out and have some fun! Bill and I are going on a date night tonight (place tbd) and I'm excited to have some quality (kid free) time with him since we've been so busy recently. I'm actually thinking about wearing the outfit above!

Here are 5 things I'm loving from this week:

1. This clutch! You basically need this clutch in your life. It is the perfect neutral (yes, leopard is a neutral if you didn't know), it is the perfect size to fit all your belongings AND it's less than $50!

2. This suit - The perfect flattering/wear around your family one piece swimsuit!

3. Faces and Names book - I made and ordered Camden a names and faces book with pictures of all our family members and their names! It's so cute and I'm excited to show it to him!

4. Tree of Life Play + Cafe - I met a friend and her toddler son at this cute little indoor play ground and cafe this week for a playdate. It is such a fun place! Lots for the little ones to play with. And the food was good too!

5. Sheet Pan recipe for the week: Lemon butter garlic shrimp and asparagus! I made this recipe this week which was so good and easy! We had the left over shrimp the next day with cocktail sauce. It would be a great summer grilling recipe too!

I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!

Friday 5 + The Perfect Summer Outfit

ruffle sleeve tee shirt (currently 30% off!) | chambray shorts (on sale for $19.95!) | necklace is sugarfix by bauble bar (sold at Target) | wedges are Vince Camuto (a few years old) linked to similar ones here and budget friendly pair here

Oh, hey Friday! This week seemed to fly by? Anyone else? We had a fun week and the weather was SO nice (finally)! Here are 5 things that made me smile this week:

1. The Zoo! I took the boys to the zoo on Tuesday with my mom, sister-in-law and her 4 month old son. I shared a few snaps on snapchat (find me @ LindsayRumple) and instastories, but only took one actual photo! We got to see the 2 new polar bear cubs with their mom swimming in the pool. It was so neat to see Camden's reaction to all the animals! He is at such a great age for the zoo now!

(I just love how he is the same size as the polar bear cub!)

2. Running outside : It was so warm and sunny on Wednesday afternoon, I decided to finish work early and go for a run before we picked up the boys for the day. I forgot how much I love running outside when the weather is nice. The combination of the vitamin D, physical activity and my favorite jams is such a mood lifter!

3. This clutch : I ordered and received this perfect leopard clutch this week and I am in LOVE! It's such a classic pattern that I know I will use a lot. Perfect for date nights or girls nights. Easy to dress up or down. And a much more budget friendly option than this one I've been coveting forever!

4. Southern Charm : You guys.. I'm addicted to this season of Southern Charm! There is just so much drama and love triangles... And I'm obsessed with Cameran on the show and if you follow her on instagram, they just announced she is pregnant with a little girl!!

5. This Face (see below) : You guys... How is it possible that my baby is 10 months today? TEN whole months! That means he will be a year old in 2 months?? I just can't believe how fast time flies when you have a baby. It is unreal. I just want to bottle up all his chubby baby cuteness and save it forever (cue the water works)! Hopefully posting an update on Bennett next week since I didn't get to his 9 month update!

That's all for this week's Friday 5!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Friday 5 + A Few Weekend Outfits

lace up top (in solid colors only now for less than $9!) | my favorite distressed shorts | converse slip ons

peplum sleeveless top | my favorite distressed white denim pants | tory burch sandals | new white lightweight Nixon watch

What a crazy week it's been! Our painters were here Tuesday and Wednesday painting most of our house. My parents watched the boys both days so they were out of the way and I could work while the painters were here. I'm happy to report that Camden no longer has a pink room and our bedroom is no longer a dark brown cave! If you caught my snaps or instastories earlier in the week you saw how light and bright both rooms look now! We landed on SW Popular Grey (which we used pretty much all over our last house in IL) for Camden's room and Bill's office. Our bedroom, master bath and the boys' bathroom is painted with SW Olympus White which is a really light, pale greyish blue! I absolutely love the color! I can't wait to style the rest of our master bedroom and share photos with you all. We also had our kitchen painted SW China Doll, which is a neutral very light cream color. We still have to paint our great room, entry way and hall ways which will be done after we have some drywalling projects to complete in the great room. But, I'm happy that 'phase 1' of painting is complete!

Now, on to 5 things I've been loving this week:

1. When I noticed I was about to run out of my daily sheets in my current agenda, I started searching for a daily agenda pad on Amazon and stumbled upon this daily agenda pad and this weekly pad (which I use now for blog planning). Both of which I am loving! I still use my agenda for keeping track of upcoming monthly events/holidays/birthdays, etc. but, it's so nice to be able to write down my daily to-dos on the daily agenda and then tear it off at the end of the day!

2. As I was searching for the above agenda pad, I stumbled across this weekly menu pad and this 'all out of' grocery list pad! I am loving using both of them and keep them by the fridge for easy access. Bill has been loving checking off the items he wants me to pick up at the grocery store. Now there is no excuse for opening the fridge, staring blankly and saying we have nothing to eat (my pet peeve).

3. I picked up a few new beauty products this week that I am loving. One is the Physicians Formula color correcting CC cream. I got it in the shade 'light/medium' which I wish I would have got the 'light' shade. I think the shade I got is a bit too dark for my complexion at the moment, but hoping that it will work better for my complexion in the summer months. It is a really smooth, lightweight, build-able coverage cream which I love!

4. I also picked up a new bronzer that I have heard nothing but great reviews about on blogs and youtube. It is the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer and it is definitely worth the money! It is so smooth and creamy and it smells like you are on vacation! I can't wait to use this more in the summer!

5. Lastly, I've been wanting to get a new high chair for Bennett for a while now and had my eyes set on the one from IKEA. I loved our highchair we used for Camden, but it was so bulky and the fabric liner always got SO messy and so annoying to take off and clean. I just wanted to get one that was ALL plastic, easy to clean and had a modern/sleek/minimalist look to it. The one from IKEA has been sold out for a while (at least in our area), so I just bit the bullet and got this one that is similar (and still only $30!) from Babies R Us. I love it! And now that Bennett is sitting up a lot better on his own, it is perfect for him! If any of you are in the market for a highchair, I highly recommend this one if you can't get the IKEA one.

What have you been loving this week?

Happy weekend and happy shopping!

Friday 5 + a comfy weekend outfit

plaid top (sooo soft, light weight and comfy) | cropped jeans | converse shoes | sunglasses | nail color | bar necklace via Stella & Dot

Can you believe it will be April 1st tomorrow? This was a particularly long month for us with the move, but the last few weeks have flown by!

Here are 5 random things I'm loving/thinking about/trying this past week...

1. Real Techniques makeup brushes - I love these brushes! I've been wanting to get some new makeup brushes and didn't want to splurge on any really expensive brands. Someone had recommended these to me and I'm so glad! I got the setting brush, the powder brush and a blush brush. They are so soft and I love the bright colored handles! I just ordered the enhanced eye set next. I also have an everyday makeup routine video in the works... stay tuned!

2. Potty Training! - We have started the potty training process with Camden and it's going so so. I was going to wait until we were more settled in the house, but he started to give signs that he was more than ready. Like, asking if he can use the potty and then going #2!! I didn't even have to coax him or anything! He has since gone #2 a handful of times and has peed a dozen times now too (sorry if that's tmi lol). I'm still keeping him in diapers as we are still in the training process, but I did just switch him to easy ups while we are training. We got him this potty and he loves to 'flush' it after he goes. It's so cute because it cheers him on when he goes!

3. One pan recipes - I cooked 2 sheet pan recipes this week that were pretty good! One was smoked turkey sausage, butternut squash, onion and apple. The other one was beef kabobs with onion, pepper and I added some chopped asparagus. I just drizzle everything with some olive oil and add salt, pepper and different spices/herbs and cook according to the meat. Everything turned out so good! The sausage is easy to cook and doesn't take too long and I ended up just broiling the beef one for about 10 mins, flipping the meat half way. I'm all about easy, healthy recipes right now! I just pinned these sheet pan recipes to try out. It's great because you only have 1 pan to clean!

4. House updates! - We just got a quote from a contractor for some work on our house. It's hard to explain with out seeing it, but we have 6 'inlets' on the top story of our 2 story family room with spot lights in them. It's like a spot where someone might showcase a sculpture or art work or something of that nature. Bill and I were not fans, so we decided to get them filled and sanded before we painted. So, it may still be awhile until we paint that area, but I will be so happy when that process is complete! We did get a quote to paint our bedroom, Camden's bedroom, our bathrooms and Bill's office so that will be 'phase 1' of painting... here we go again! I also just ordered this area rug for our family room and I'm so excited to get it! I know what you're thinking... a white shag rug with babies/toddlers and a dog? Yep... I might be crazy!

5. Date Night! - Bill and I are actually going on a date night tomorrow evening! It's been so long since we've had a proper date night. I am so excited! We are trying out a new restaurant in Dublin called Napa, which looks like a nice little wine bar/restaurant. Now to figure out what I'm wearing??

Happy Friday!

Happy St. Patty's Day!
This is about as green as I'm going to get today. I'll be spending the day at home with the boys while Bill is working. I might venture out in the cold to take them to the grocery store... or we may just hang out in our PJs all day... Because it still feels like WINTER! Ugh... I'm so over the cold!

We might celebrate with some pizza and beer tonight. I know, we're crazy!

Here are 5 things I'm loving this week:

1. La Croix - Guys, I'm working on kicking the diet coke habit and I have to say... I'm a believer in La Croix! I thought I didn't really like it, but now I am constantly drinking the lime flavor all day err day. I don't hate it!

2. Food Prep - I'm on a food prep kick this week. I made a big batch of eggs with onion, spinach and cheese on Monday and portioned it out into 4 servings so I could have some with my whole grain toast every morning. I also made a big batch of crock pot Mexican shredded chicken, cooked rice and sautéed onion, red and yellow peppers and portioned it out into 4 servings for dinners. This was a HUGE time saver for me, especially since Bill was out of town 2 nights this week. It was just so easy to throw the prepared serving in the microwave and eat while I was feeding the kids. I also made little snack packs for Camden of cut up strawberries and peeled apples. He was eating strawberries all week! I might do a post about my food prep and attempt to 'diet' in the near future... stay tuned!

 3. These plates and these bibs - Speaking of meal prep, I recently purchased some new plates for Camden and bibs for both of them. I am loving these plates from Target. They are 79 cents a piece, come in a lot of fun colors AND are dishwasher and microwave safe! I have also made the decision that I will only buy silicon bibs like these going forward. I hate cleaning cloth/plastic bibs after they eat and Bennett is one messy eater! These bibs are so much easier to clean!

4. New apps - I downloaded a slew of new apps this week that all revolve around productivity and family scheduling. I'm hoping to experiment with all of them and will share my favorites on a blog post soon! The few I've already been using are 30/30, Time Tree, Cozi and ATracker. If you have any suggestions on productivity or scheduling apps you love, please comment with them below!

5. Make Up Vloggers - Ok... I have a slight addiction to watching make up tutorials on youtube at night after everyone has gone to bed. I just fall right down that rabbit hole for like an hour before I realize it's past my bedtime! Some of my favorites are Mallory Ervin, Makeup by Tiffany D, Casey Holmes and Jesssouthern. Tell me I'm not the only one? Any make up vlogger channels you love and recommend?

That's all for this week!
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Friday 5 (all on SALE!)

We made it to Friday! Hooray!

We are finally settling into our new little routine at my parents' house. Although this (not so) little dude has been teething so bad and waking up in the middle of the night whining in pain! One of his bottom teeth finally popped out, but he's still working on the one next to it. So, mommy has been drinking all the caffeine she can find...

Anyhoo, here are my top 5 favorite finds from this week, all of which are on sale!!

1. I found my black Nike 'Juvenate' sneakers on sale for less than $60 (also comes in great colors for spring)!

2. My favorite scoop neck long sleeve tee is on sale for $10.80 - 40% off

3. These tassel earrings are on sale for 50% off and are currently waiting to be purchased in my nordstrom shopping cart.

4. This anorak jacket is currently 40% off and is just like the one I have from Target that I've been wearing lately.

5. This grey version of my favorite faux leather tote is currently 33% off! Such a great everyday bag!

The boys have been enjoying the warmer weather this week and actually got to play outside! Camden has been saying almost everyday 'I wanna go oussssiiiide!' in the cutest voice! He just loves it and it makes me so excited for spring time!

Unfortunately, I think it's supposed to get cold again this weekend. So, we've made plans to visit COSI (Columbus kids science museum) and have a few play dates scheduled with some friends I haven't seen in a while. So happy to be back in our home town with family and friends!

I hope you all have a great weekend and happy shopping! :)

Friday 5

Happy Friday, lovelies! Here are a few things (ok, 5) I'm loving from this week:

1 | This tunic tee - I actually bought this one last winter and I've been wearing it so much recently! It's a very soft tee shirt material and is long enough to wear with leggings (praise emoji!)! I'm thinking about getting it in alllll the colors since it's only $18! (wearing in the photo below)

2 | kate spade leopard iphone case - I got this iphone case a while ago, but I've been loving it! I'm always a sucker for kate spade cases.

3 | Stella & Dot bar necklace - This one I purchased after I had my online trunk show (via @marina04118 on IG). I got our wedding date in roman numerals engraved on it! I sometimes layer it with the gold circle charm necklace I have with Camden and Bennett's initials. Just the perfect everyday jewelry piece!

4 | Sally Hansen miracle gel manicure in Wine Stock - This has been my go to nail color recently! It stays pretty well when you apply this top coat.

5 | Rent the Runway - We have a wedding this weekend in Columbus and instead of buying a new dress I decided to rent this one! It's supposed to arrive today so I hope it works out! I got 2 sizes just in case.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Friday 5

We made it to another Friday! Yay! Here are the top 5 things I'm loving from this week:

1. This tunic is on SALE! I have it in the burgundy color and now want one in every color! I'm thinking white might be my next purchase going into Spring... It's a closet staple!

2. Target V-day mugs. Target, why do you have to do this to me every season? Their cute Valentine's Day mugs give me all the heart eyes!

3. This mascara primer. It truly works people! I bought it after Emily from The Sweetest Thing blog recommended it (even over the expensive brands). I feel like my lashes look like falsies when I use it!

4. These therapeutic moisturizing aloe socks. You guys, I live in these socks in the winter! I love that they are infused with natural aloe vera and are SUPER soft. I wear these around the house instead of slippers!

5. No cable... That's right! You heard me! We got rid of our cable and to be honest, I haven't been missing it! I am still catching up with This Is Us on NBC's website (you can watch full episodes!), but that's really the only TV I've been watching lately. I know, no Bachelor this season! I've actually gotten back into reading and this book is next on my list!

Happy Weekend!!

Friday 5

I'm back again with another edition of Friday 5!
Here are the top 5 things I'm loving from this week:

1. This Nike sweatshirt. You guys... It's the best! I got mine in grey which just came back in stock (in medium which is what I'm wearing), but they also have different sizes available in black, white and a pretty bright mango color. It also has pockets in the front! The perfect go to sweatshirt this winter! And bonus: It's on SALE!

2. This sweater. Another recent Nordstrom purchase that I am loving! It's lightweight, but still soft and warm feeling. It's so flattering and comfortable. And you can wear it with leggings...SOLD! I got it in the grey color, but now I'm wanting it in black, red, olive...ok every color.

3. More Play-Doh! Yes, Camden is still obsessed with Play-Doh this week! I ordered this shape and colors play-doh kit from Amazon and he loves making all the shapes and naming all the colors!

4. This Is Us. Ok, so I just started watching the first season on NBC.com and I'm hooked! I'm only through episode 4, so don't spoil anything for me! I'm hoping to get caught up so I can start watching the new season!

5. This book! I know I mentioned it in my 2017 goals post, but I am about half way through it and I can't seem to put it down at night! So easy to relate to and beautifully written!

That's all I got this week! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Friday 5

Nothing better than a good Friday 5 post, am I right? I haven't done one of these in a while, so I thought I'd bring it back and share with you 5 things I'm loving currently.

1. New black Nike's. I was gifted these for Christmas (thanks Santa!) and I loooove them! They are so comfortable and perfect to wear with my (let's be honest) everyday 'athleasure'. (They also come in a lot of fun colors!)

2. Skip Hop backpack diaper bag. This was an Amazon black Friday purchase last month and I'm so glad I pulled the trigger for this! A hands free diaper bag with two kiddos makes a world of difference when we are on the go!

3. Hunter boots with Hunter boot socks. because I've been wearing them everyday for the past month! It has either been snowing or cold/rain/sleet yuckiness around these parts. The sock inserts help keep my feet warm in these frigid temps too!

4. The crockpot and these crockpot liners have been my dinner savior recently! What's better than having a hot meal all ready for you at the end of the day? I'm planning to post about my favorite crockpot recipes soon!

5. Last but not least... Play-Doh! Camden got some for Christmas and it has kept him busy for a good hour at a time! He is obsessed! I'm hoping to get him a few new tools soon to keep the PD love going. Any mama tips for keeping the toddlers from mixing the colors together? He loves to do that...

What are you loving this week?

Happy Friday, Lovelies!!

Friday 5...

I'm going to do Friday 5's a little different going forward... I really liked the Currently post I did a while back and thought it would be fun to incorporate them into my Friday 5 posts (since they are changing all the time)!

1 || Eating: Lots of hummus and pita chips. It's my new favorite snack! I also made this recipe for skinny crock pot chicken pot pie on Monday and have been enjoying the left overs all week!

2 || Watching/Reading: Still slowly catching up on House of Cards with Bill when we are able to watch TV together. Also, really into some new shows: The Royals and Southern Charm (anyone else?)! Of course, you can catch me watching any of the Real Housewives shows on any given day on Bravo. As far as the reading goes... Do picture books with Cam count? I really need to get back into reading again... Anyone have any good suggestions?

3 || Wearing: These leggings (which are on sale now!)... Yes, I know I keep mentioning them. I love them! Also wearing these sneaks and sweatshirts on the daily. Looking forward to dressing up for Easter though!

4 || Loving: Even though it's still a little chilly (in the 40s and 50s this week besides our random 70 degree day), I am loving that the sun has been shining and all the snow is melted! Hallelujah!!

Also loving spending time with Cam this week. He just makes me smile all the time! I can't believe he is 4 months (today) already! We had a really fun photo sesh yesterday for his 4 month post (coming Monday). It may or may not have included an outfit with my new favorite baby mocs from Sweet N Swag!

5 || Looking forward to: Spending the weekend with my little family! We have another dinner date planned for tomorrow night. I am loving our date nights and always look forward to our quality time. I'm hoping to enjoy the nice weather and maybe do some Spring cleaning? Also, planning to pick up a new jogging stroller! Whoo hoo!

What are your plans this weekend?
