Awesome Etsy Gift Ideas

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's time to really start gearing up for Christmas! We are working on decorating our tree and mantel this week. I have been itching to put up our Christmas decorations, but we always wait until after Thanksgiving because we #respectthebird :)

I just started my holiday shopping this week (got some great deals on cyber Monday!) and still working on crossing off my list. I found some really cute ideas on Etsy recently that I just have to share! There are so many great personalized gift ideas, but these were my favorite and are on the top of my wish list too.

O N E | I'm going to need this doormat! I heart Joanna Gaines and pretty much the only person that rings our doorbell these days is the Amazon Prime package delivery man... (*note: this door mat is now shipping after Christmas, but still would make a great gift!)

| T W O | How fun would it be to have this letter board set in your house? It comes with a complete set of white letters so you can change up the message as much as you want! Leave your hubby a funny quote everyday or tell your kids to clean up in a subtle way.

| T H R E E | It's no secret that I'm a sucker for a cute, graphic mug. This one says it all with a pretty font too!

| F O U R | I'm also a sucker for graphic tees and sweatshirts and I love the bluntness of this one! Perfect for that funny (but, slightly whiny) girl in your life!

| F I V E | If you need a gift idea for that funny guy in your life, this shirt would be perfect! I also love this version that I would wear myself!

| S I X | For that friend or family member that loves the city life, this pillow would be a great gift for their home.

| S E V E N | My friend Jen from Colorado makes these adorable personalized, hand painted peg doll ornaments! What a great gift for a grandparent or family member! She also sells hand painted peg doll nativity sets on her shop (The Polka Dot Peg) as well. I recently received my nativity set and I adore it! It's the perfect set to have out when you have small children. I don't worry about Camden playing with it either, which is so nice!

I am so excited to display this nativity set every year!

Camden is 2!

I still can't believe my baby Cam is TWO years old! Didn't I just have him? Didn't we just have his 1st birthday party?! This past year has flown by!

We had a much more low key birthday for Camden this year. My mom and dad came to visit the weekend before his birthday (to watch the boys for our Chicago 'stay-cation') and we did a little celebration with cake and presents while they were here. We also had our own little family birthday with presents and another cake (never too much birthday cake) for his actual birthday on the 20th this past Sunday. We also started the day with balloons in his crib (which I think are his favorite gift he received, he's obsessed!) and a 'happy birthday' banner!

(PS - He would NOT take his paci out for these photos...something we are working on weaning! He only uses it now for naps and bedtime)

(had to distract him with this block to get him to take it out!)

Camden has grown so much not only in the physical sense, but he has learned so much in the past year! He basically talks all the time and it is so great to finally be able to communicate with him for the most part. He's working on pronunciation of most words of course, but usually tries to mimic me if I try to teach him a new word. He's also speaking in 2 and 3 word sentences and will say, "Hi mama" or "Mama milk" (meaning my milk or whatever drink I have) and then will point to his sippy cup and say "Camden milk" (well, he can't quite say his name perfectly, but we are getting there!). Everything right now is 'dada, mama, baby'... meaning big, medium, small. My mom taught him this and since then he has been non stop pointing out things that are big, medium and small. We will blow up balloons for him and he will pick out the big one and say 'dada loon' (dada balloon) and then will find a medium and small one and will call them mama and baby! He also loves to associate objects with colors. So, he will say 'Red loon, green loon, yellow loon!' etc.

He loves colors, shapes, numbers and the alphabet! He can count to 10, knows all his colors and most shapes. And he is pretty familiar with all the letters of the alphabet. He loves music and pretty much will only watch tv or videos with songs or else he gets bored. We love the Little Baby Bum and Mother Goose Club videos on YouTube (we try to limit screen time as much as possible). Of course, he's also a big fan of the Hot Dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!

He is also becoming such an affectionate big brother and loves to give baby Bennett kisses and hugs. He will bring him a blanket or his paci when he thinks he needs it. He loves to try to tickle him too which is adorable! I can't not wait to watch their relation grow over the next year!

He's becoming a little bit of a picky eater, but we are slowly working on trying to get him to eat his veggies and meat. He loves yogurt, cereal, bananas, strawberries, applesauce, veggie straws (that counts as a veggie, right?), shredded cheese, bagels with cream cheese, bread w/ butter, french fries, chicken nuggets and pizza (yep, no shame here). We are working on trying to get him to eat what we are eating, but it doesn't always work. Of course, he is still chugging his milk!

Camden is really growing to love 'school' and playing with his friends and teachers. I love the social interaction he gets from his time at school and love receiving his daily report cards of what he did with photos and even videos! He just recently moved up to the '2s' classroom where they start to teach him to drink from a regular cup, wean from the pacifier and start potty training (Lord help me!). We got him this potty to start the process, but we are taking it pretty slow for now. I'm hoping over the next year to have him potty trained, but we are not rushing it by any means! Any tips from toddler moms with potty trained little ones welcome!

Obviously, I could go on and on about how much we love him and and how great he is! Of course, he has his toddler moments... But, we definitely lucked out with this one! He's a keeper :)

Happy 2nd birthday Camden William Rumple! We love you more than you will ever know!!

Current Favorite Toddler Toys (under $40)

This post is in honor of my first born baby boy turning TWO this Sunday! I am in complete denial that this is happening and it came up way too quickly!

Camden is at a really fun age right now and is becoming so much more interactive with his toys and has even started to play more independently at times. Right now some of his favorite activities are counting/sorting, building towers, coloring, playing with puzzles and collecting the millions of balls we have around the house!

Below is just a short list of some of Camden's current favorite toys, as well as a few things we have on our wish list.

1. Little Tikes Easy Score Basketball Set - This one we got him for his birthday and actually set it up this past weekend when my parents were in town. It comes with 3 small basketballs and you can adjust the height of the basket. He is really into throwing balls so this definitely keeps him busy and keeps him from throwing balls towards people/babies/breakable things lol!

2. Melissa & Doug Latches Wooden Activity Board - This one I plan to give him for his birthday this weekend. It was recommended to me (Thanks Marina!). I can totally see this latch board keeping him busy for at least 10 minutes!

3. Melissa & Doug Hide and Seek Farm Wooden Activity Board With Barnyard Animal Magnets - Yes, another activity board from Melissa & Doug. I basically love anything from M & D right now. I think their products are perfect for Camden's age range. He is also really into farms right now, so this will be the perfect gift!

4. Little Tikes Count 'n Play Cash Register - This one we've had for a little while now and he still seems interested in it. He's gotten really good at putting the coins in the right slots and swiping the credit card! Maybe because he's seen mommy do it a few times ;)

5. VTech Go! Go! Smart Wheels Spinning Spiral Tower Playset - We bought this toy a few months ago and he loves it! It came with one car and since then I've bought more cars to go with it. Although, he likes to put other toys down the ramp... like these eggs for example... hey, whatever keeps him busy!

6. LEGO DUPLO My First Number Train Building Set - This one is currently on the wish list for Christmas. He has some of these mega blocks, but he's starting to get more into the Duplo legos which they have at his school. I think he would really like the train set and I love that it has numbers on it.

7.  Melissa & Doug On the Go Water Wow! Activity Book, 3-Pack - Animals, Alphabet, and Numbers - My mom brought one of these activity books this past weekend when they visited and Camden loved it! It's so great because you just fill the paint brush with water and it colors the pages with no mess. I repeat... NO MESS! It was the perfect distraction while in his high chair while we would prepare meals.

8. ALEX Toys Artist Studio 10 Finger Crayons - These crayons have been our favorites for a while. We found ours in the Target dollar isle, but have since bought a replacement set on Amazon. They are the perfect size for his hands and he loves stacking them.

9. Crayola, Paw Patrol, Color Wonder Mess-Free Coloring Pad and Markers, Art Tools - I am a BIG fan of these Color Wonder Mess-Free markers and we have several coloring books with different themes. These markers only color on the specific Color Wonder books and do not stain anything else!

There you have it! Our current toddler toy favorites and a few things that are on our Christmas wish list.

Toddler moms, what are some of your favorite toys at the moment?

Personalized Gifts | Stella & Dot

The older I get the more I want to buy more quality jewelry pieces that I can wear everyday. I bought a monogram necklace from etsy last year and I love wearing it almost everyday more than some other statement pieces that I hardly ever wear anymore. I currently have my eye on the simple engraveable disc necklace from Stella & Dot for a new everyday jewelry piece.

I also love the bar necklace trend and would love to get a bar necklace with either our wedding date or the boys' names on it. I am thinking of purchasing a monogram locket with a picture of the boys in it for my mom for Christmas. And for those hard to buy for dudes in your life? How about some monogrammed cuff links?! Stella & Dot offers so many great options for personalized jewelry. And they make great gifts!

I'm going to be hosting an online trunk show on facebook with Marina (follower her on IG!) on December 4th at 8pm (est), but you can shop my online party now until December 4th!

I'll be posting more of my favorite Stella & Dot pieces once a week over the next few weeks. There are just so many great options for holiday gifts!

Lastly, today is the last day to enter to win a $300 Amazon gift card! If you haven't entered yet, now is your chance!

Chicago Weekend Recap + What I Wore

It's crazy to think that we've lived in Plainfield, IL for 8+ months and are less than 40 minutes away from the city and this was our first visit to Chicago together! Obviously, we were a little busy with the moving and having a baby, but we FINALLY found the time to take a 'stay-cation' to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday this past weekend. Well, we only stayed one night because #momguilt, but it was much needed!

It's also crazy to think that we can say we lived close to Chicago the year the cubs won the world series AND Trump was elected president! Ha!

We stayed at the Palmer House right across from Millennium Park and the Art Institute of Chicago. I wish I would have taken more pictures of our hotel because it was gorgeous! Very old school/glam with a lot of ornate designs on the walls and ceiling and beautiful candelabras everywhere.

We arrived to our hotel a little after 1pm and were able to get an early check in thanks to Bill's Hilton Honors status (a bonus of a traveling job). Once we were all checked in we decided to walk around the corner to the Gage for some lunch. We were able to snag a seat at the bar where we started the our afternoon off with a cocktail (wine for me, beer for him) and a hearty lunch. I landed on the lobster roll and Bill had the shrimp gumbo. The food, drinks and atmosphere did not disappoint! We were also able to catch the first quarter of the Ohio State game. Once we finished our lunch, we decided to take a stroll in the park. It didn't last long though, because it was pretty chilly out!

After our stroll in the park we decided to head back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. We relaxed, watched the rest of the OSU game and got ready for dinner. Our reservations weren't until 8pm, so we decided to stop by Pops for Champagne before dinner for a quick toast. I had been to Pops before for a bachelorette party, so I knew it was the perfect spot for a pre-dinner glass of champagne.

We had dinner at Benny's Chop House. We shared the fillet, lobster risotto and asparagus and had the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. Yep, we weren't holding back! Everything was so good! The fillet was probably one of the best I have tasted in my life! The service was wonderful as well. They even surprised us with a Happy Anniversary dessert!

The next morning, we took our time getting up and going (even though I was up at 5am anyways because #momguilt and #momlife). We decided to grab some brunch at Beef & Brandy which is a longstanding, diner style breakfast place.

After breakfast, we were on our way home and were able to get back before Cam's nap time! It was a short and sweet trip, but I'm so glad we were able to get away even for just one night. I definitely think it's so important to continue dating your spouse as often as you can!

And now, the most important part... What I wore!! I brought/wore 3 main outfits: 2 casual and 1 for our night out on the town.

The first outfit was what I wore Saturday for our casual lunch and strolling the park. It was a bit chilly out, so the vest added some warmth!

plaid top | quilted puffer vest | skinny legging jeans | boots

The outfit below is what I wore out Saturday night for dinner and drinks.

black jeggings | lush v-neck blouse (on sale!) | faux fur vest (similar here, here and here) | clutch (only $25!) | booties | monogram necklace | kendra scott pendant necklace

This last outfit I wore Sunday morning for breakfast and the ride home. Super comfy!

leggings | tunic tee shirt | scarf (only $15!) | boots

Birthday Wishlist

It's my birthday today! I will spare you my actual age (hint... it's in the 30's), but I don't feel a day over 29 ;)

We are celebrating our anniversary and my birthday this weekend in Chicago, so that's kind of my birthday present. Also, we got a new headboard and still trying to decide on new bedding (I'm leaning towards this duvet and this throw pillow). So, I'm not expecting any gifts this year. Especially since it will be Cam's birthday in less than 2 weeks and I've been spending money on his gifts already!

However, I do love me a good wish list collage so here's what I'm currently lusting over:

I'm all about studs these days. I don't ever wear big earrings anymore, especially around the boys. I'm loving these pretty kendra scott stone stud earrings.

Nothing more cozy than a knit beanie in the winter.

I'm in need of a new classic, black leather strap watch and this one looks perfect.

I feel like I'm always replacing my slippers every winter. This year I'd like to splurge a bit more on a pair that will last a long time.

I've been using functional, durable totes a lot lately. For work and even for carrying around the boys stuff to take them to school or for quick trips to the store. This TB one is not only trendy, but functional too!

I can just picture myself in these PJs curled up by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa!

I told myself that I would splurge on a new pair of jeans once I lost all the baby weight. I'm happy to report that I am officially back to pre-baby weight! And this pair of jeans is actually on sale right now, so it's the perfect time to buy!

My parents are coming to visit for the weekend and to watch the boys while we go to chicago for the night. I'm excited to see them! But, also nervous about leaving my baby for the night for the first time... I hope I can relax and enjoy myself!

Happy weekend and happy shopping!

3 Years

Today is our 3 year anniversary!

Boy, have we been through a lot in 3 years!

2 babies, 1 dog, and one big move across 2 states. Our life right now may be a little crazy, but I honestly would not want to share it with anyone else in the world. He is my rock, my best friend and my sole mate.

He is also not one for mushy, public displays of affection so I'll keep it short and sweet... ;)

Here's a few of my favorite wedding photos:

Happy Anniversary to my love!

We are celebrating this weekend with a little 'stay-cation' in downtown Chicago for a night! Aka, my first night away from my baby... Wish us luck! :) :)

Our Weekend + Family Photo Sneak Peek

We had a pretty low key weekend which was just what the doctor ordered. The boys have both been sick with a nasty cough/cold (seriously, this cold season can be over now) that has been keeping everyone up at night. Luckily, no one has had a fever so far so I'm hoping it won't escalate to anything worse.

We had our family photo session with the wonderful Lindsay of ( The weather could not have been more perfect and with the fall foliage in the background made for some awesome photos! She sent us a few sneak peek photos which makes me so excited to see the rest! I just love the candid shots of the boys! I'm hoping to have family photos taken every year around this time. It will be fun to compare photos from years past. We took family photos last year around this time when Camden was just 10/11 months old. It's crazy to see how much he's grown!

These photos came at such a great time. When I'm awoken at 4:30 am with a coughing babe (even earlier now, thanks daylight savings!) and I feel like I'm never going to get a full night's sleep ever again... I look at these photos and realize that everything is a phase and I need to relish in these moments when they are so little. I just love our little family so much!

family photos outfit: dress | boots | plaid scarf

Besides taking it easy, we also (when I say we, I mean Bill) put together our new bed/headboard. It was an early anniversary present to both of us. I'm also on the hunt for new bedding and throw pillows. I will share the finished product when it's all put together!

We also took a family trip to the park to enjoy this weather while it lasts and enjoyed a family dinner outing at Panera (currently craving all the autumn squash soup!).

I hope you all got an extra hour of sleep this weekend! Of course, if you are a parent that's not always the case... Why don't these kids get it?!!

Halloween Weekend + an OOTD

Oh, Hi! Sorry for the radio silence over here the past week! Bill has been out of town for work since Sunday morning, but luckily my parents came to visit this past weekend and stayed until Tuesday morning to help out with the boys. Bennett has come down with a nasty cold and has been waking up coughing and all stuffy at night, so this mombie has been super tired...

We had such a fun Halloween weekend with the boys! Bill was really sad that he was going to miss trick or treat night with them, but I'm glad my parents were here for Halloween. How cute are my little monkeys?!

This was the best photo I could get of the both of them. Camden almost refused to wear his, but we told him he would get candy if he kept it on. Bennett, on the other hand, was not too pleased with his costume and threw a fit about 5 minutes after we put it on. Oh well... Next year will be fun! At least I was able to snap a really cute picture of them!

Camden really got into trick or treating! We just took him around our court and we took him up to each door and told him to say 'trick or treat' to get some candy. He would say 'tick o teeeeet!' when our neighbors opened their doors, it was the cutest thing!

Of course, we had to confiscate his candy... We did let him have a sucker and some fruit snacks though for all his hard work. ;)

I represented all my Mombies out there... Messy hair, eye bags and all! All that's missing is a Starbucks in my hand!

And just for fun, here's an OOTD which has been on heavy rotation for me lately:

I love this outfit for fall because it's been chilly in the mornings and warms up in the afternoon, so I can just peel off the layers.

How was your Halloween weekend?
Are you ready for Christmas season?!!! I am!!!
