Friday Freebie

I've been playing around with some design work recently.
If you haven't noticed, there have been a few changes on the ol' bloggie here.
I have updated my header / logo from this...

to this...
I've also moved the menu bar to the top of the page and added a solid line to separate the two.

I also worked on adding custom labels in the side bar for easier navigation through my most popular post categories.

I also added my new signature to each post, which I love!

Design is such a great creative outlet for me and the more I learn, the more I want to continue learning.

To celebrate this new found love, I am giving all my readers this FREE desktop wallpaper:

Enjoy and happy Friday!

Baby Girl Nursery Inspiration

No, I'm not officially having a girl... We will find out this weekend!
I am probably jinxing myself for even posting this, but I have to say
I had so much fun working on this baby girl nursery inspo board.
I mean, how can you resist a white, pink and gold decor opportunity?!
Baby Girl Nursery

Next up is getting rid of all the random items we have stored in our guest room to make room for baby! We are having a garage sale this weekend in hopes to help clear the clutter. I plan on taking before and after pics of the nursery and can not wait to start the process!

Maybe I should work on a boy nursery inspo board too...

Pink Blush Maternity Giveaway!

{dress, c/o Pink Blush Maternity | necklace, Francesca's | crossbody, DSW |
wedges, H&M

A few things I have concluded from looking at these photos:

1) Fashion blogger, I am not! But, it was fun trying it out...
2) I need a tan, badly!!
3) Setting up a tripod around the outside of your house and taking multiple photos of yourself may make your neighbors wonder about your sanity...

However, I wanted to capture my love for this dress from Pink Blush Maternity!
I absolutely love the style, pattern and colors!
It is so comfortable and would be perfect for a date night with the hubs or even a Summer wedding.

It is no secret that I have had a love affair with Pink Blush Maternity ever since I came accross their website after I became pregnant. I probably bought maternity clothes before I even needed them just because I wanted some of their cute dresses and skirts. When they contacted me to collaborate on a giveaway after seeing this post on instagram, I was so extatic!

If you are preggo, you have to check out their online shop.
Before you do, make sure you enter to win the $25 e-gift card below!

I will announce the winner on Thursday, July 3rd!
Good luck!

Baby Gender Prediction

We've all heard the old wives tales... and if you haven't, you'll be looking them up on Google when you're pregnant just to guess at what you're having (unless you are one of those strong willed individuals who are able to wait until birth to find out!).

All the signs are currently pointing to girl for me...
However, I can't shake this feeling that I'm having a boy.
I would love to have a mini Bill... He was seriously the cutest little boy!
He had freckles and blue eyes, the perfect all American kid!
I would love to see Bill as a father figure to a boy.
I can see him teaching him how to throw a football and
being so involved in all the sports activities.

Of course... You know I would LOVE to have a girl...
Ever time I walk by the little girl department at Target I feel as though I get weepy.
Everything is so frickin' adorable!
And decorating a girl nursery would be so much more fun... let's be honest!

The truth is, I will be so ecstatic no matter what we are having!
It is the best feeling and I can't wait to find out!

We will get the envelope from our doctor on Friday.
We are having our parents over for dinner Saturday.
My friend is making a gender reveal cake for us that will be blue or pink inside.
I can't wait to cut into that cake!
Don't worry, we will catch it on video!

What do you think we are having?

*Attention soon to be mommies: Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the Pink Blush Maternity Giveaway!!

Friday Five

1 // Have you guys seen the new PINK Ray Bans? These are on my wish list! See more of my wishlist and products I love here

2 // I am working on sprucing up our dining room area (before and after post coming soon) and I want to do a photo collage, much like this one, on one of the blank walls. Just need to find the perfect frames. (photo source)

3 // Along with the dining room makeover, I am planning on purchasing this console table for the back wall. We have the perfect art piece to center over it. Can't wait to reveal!

4 // Speaking of reveal... We find out the gender of #rumplebaby2014 in 1 week!! We are planning to have a small get together with our immediate families for the officialy reveal. I'm hoping to get a cake made like this one and will have both our moms cut into it! :)

5 // Skittles have been running my life this week... I have to have at least one bag a day!

This weekend Bill and I are planning to clean out our 'guest room' and sell all the old furniture in there to make room for baby's nursery! I can't wait to start the decorating process!

What are you up to this weekend?

Bump-Date // Week 15

(dress : Pink Blush Maternity | cardigan: Old Navy, old {similar} | monogram necklace: Etsy | earrings: Francesca's)

It was actually a little chilly this past Saturday morning, so I had to grab a cardigan for the pic. I love this maxi from Pink Blush Maternity! It is so comfy and I just love the pattern and color.

How far along:  15 weeks!

Baby size: Navel Orange :)

Baby's progress: Baby is about 4 inches long and weighs about 2.5 ounces. Baby's proportions are becoming even more normal, since his/her legs now out measure the arms. (source: The Bump)

Weight gain: Actually stepped on the scale this week and am already up 10 lbs! :/

Stretch marks: Nothing yet! Using Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter everyday!

Sleep: Sleep is getting a little more restless with the growing belly. I am starting to have to sleep on my side and I normally sleep on my back, so that's an adjustment. Of course, getting up multiple times to go to the bathroom is still annoying as heck!

Gender: Don't know yet... Can't wait to find out! I'm thinking boy, Bill is thinking girl. We will see who's right :) We will find out on our next appt on the 27th!!! We are having a small get together with our parents on the 28th for a gender reveal! I can't wait to share the news!

Movement: Nothing yet. Can't wait to feel this peanut moving! Hopefully soon!

Best moment this week: Starting to feel better through out the day. Able to get more done during the day. Finding more energy in the morning! Still some nausea at night here and there, but noticing it's not as bad if I lay off the sugar and drink more water throughout the day.

Looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!! Getting this burst of energy on the 2nd trimester that everyone is talking about. Starting to plan out the nursery :)

Food cravings: Starting to get my normal eating habits back. Salty things appeal to me again. Still need something sugary once a day though... I NEEDED Skittles this week...

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing really out of the ordinary??

Anything making you queasy or sick: Brushing my teeth still makes me a little queasy.  Some floral scents and cleaning products make me feel queasy too.

Labor signs: too early!

What I miss: Sleeping on my back, a strong cup off coffee, a hearty glass of wine after a long day at the office...

Symptoms: Just a touch of nausea still right before bed. Very tired in the afternoon/evening still. My boobs are really sore (sorry if that is TMI)!

Workouts: Went on a few long walks with Charlie. Still using my 5 lb weights to help tone my arms. I try to do about 10 - 20 minutes of arm exercises at night while I'm watching TV. Also, doing lunges.

Things that suck: Still feeling a little ill at times. Feeling tired in the evening. Not being able to go out and stay out too late. Not being able to enjoy a nice cold adult beverage on a patio during this awesome weather! Clothes and bras feeling tight!

Things that don't suck: There's so much that doesn't suck! Knowing all these little discomforts are nothing compared to the joy that will be brought into our lives! Oh, and nursery decor planning makes me :)

That's all for this week's Bump-Date!

Weekend Recap

{follow me on instagram here}

The search for Peonies is over! I visited the Worthington Farmers Market over the weekend with a friend and there was a booth that was selling nothing but Peonies! They even told me that this was the last weekend they were selling them, so I made it there just in time! Within hours of getting them home and in a vase, the buds bloomed! They really do live up to all their hype!

Friday night was spent in painting my nails (I chose OPI's 'La Paz-itively Hot', an oldie but a goodie!), ordering pizza and watching TV with the hubs. I swear I have become so boring since I've been pregnant! Hopefully, this energy kick will come in soon!

We spent Saturday having a picnic in the park with Bill's parents to celebrate Father's Day. We went to Bravo on Sunday for lunch to celebrate Father's Day with my parents. Needless to say, there was a lot of eating this weekend!

On a more exciting note, Pink Blush Maternity contacted me last week after I posted this instagram and offered to send me an item of my choosing to review AND to offer my readers a $25 e-gift card to the online shop! I can't wait to review the pretty floral dress I got! More info on the giveaway coming soon!

How was your weekend?

Friday Five

1 // I have to admit... I am jealous of those that can pull off a romper. I am seeing them all over and they look so cute! I really wish I could rock this one.

2 // Saw these cute little pom pom organic monogram pillows on PBteen and have been obsessing... I really want to get one for baby Rumple's nursery!

3 // This kate spade baby bag is on sale y'all... should I splurge?? I love that it looks more like a stylish bag than a diaper bag!

4 // I'm planning to stop by a local farmer's market tomorrow morning with a friend in hopes of finding some peonies. I have been searching all over Columbus with no luck so far!

5 // Don't forget it's father's day this weekend! We are celebrating with Bill's parents on Saturday and my parents on Sunday. There will be a lot of eating and baby talk, I'm sure! {card source: Etsy}

My Everyday Makeup

I am such a creature of habit. Once I find something I like and works, it's so hard for me to try something different! These products are what I literally use everyday... I mean EVERYday. I can't leave my house without at least putting on powder, concealer and eyeliner... It's a problem...

Here are my tried and true products (that will not brake the bank!):

1 // MAC 'Mineralize' Skinfinish Natural Light - When I was searching for makeup for my wedding day, I splurged at the MAC counter and got a lot of great products. There are only a few I now use everyday. One of which is this powder. After I apply my BB Cream (see below), I let it dry and then brush on this loose powder all over my face. It gives me the perfect matte finish and stays on all day.

2 // H&M Bronzer (similar) - This was an impulse buy while at H&M a while ago. It was only something like $3. I use it on my cheeks and lightly dust my forehead and nose and it gives me the perfect glow.

3 // Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Spot Concealer + Treatment - This stuff works wonders for my undereye dark circles. It is a must have before I am ever seen in public!

4 // Maybelline Volum'Express The Rocket Mascara - This is a recent find. I used to wear the same type of mascara (also Maybelline) for the last 10 years. Everytime I tried to switch, I didn't like it. Then, my friend recommended this mascara and now I am hooked! The brush is actually a thick wand with a bunch small, hard bristles. It separates all my lashes perfectly and does not leave that 'clumpy' look (which we all hate).

5 // MAC 'Pro Longwear' Paint Pot Soft Ochre - Have you ever had your eyeshadow form creases at the end of the day? Well, this stuff prevents that from happening. You simply apply this stuff all over your lids before you apply your eyeshadow and it provides a nice, smooth canvas to "paint" on. Definitely worth the $20. I have had this pot (the little black pot with no label) since before my wedding in November and I have only used a small percentage of it. It has the consistancy of clay and you only need a small dab to apply to your eyelids daily.

6 // Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner - This stuff is the bomb dot com. I always used pencil eyeliners before and it would always smudge or I would never get the perfect line. My friend who did my makeup for my wedding suggested that I get a gel eyeliner pot and an eyeliner brush. I'm so glad I did! It's so easy to use the brush to apply the perfect line. I apply a line on top with a slight cat eye wing at the end of my lid and also apply a small line underneight my lid. The eyeliner stay on all day long and never smudges.

7 // Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter, Berry Smoothie - I've raved about this stuff before. This is my favorite everyday lip color and it goes on like buttaaaaa!

8 // CoverGirl Smoothers SPF 15 BB Cream Tinted Moisture - I've raved about this stuff before too. I use this as my everyday moisterizer. I put it n every morning. It goes on like lotion, but has a slight tint to provide slight coverage to smooth out skin tone. I don't like using thick foundation on my face everyday. I save that for special occassions. I use this stuff everyday and finish with loose powder on top for a matte finish.

9 // CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 1 Kit Eye Shadow, Tapestry TaupeBrown Smolder - Lastly, this is the eyeshadow combo I literally wear everyday. Have been for years now. I use the Tapestry Taupe all over my lids. It is a shimmery pinkish-taupe color and really brightens up my eyes. I finish with applying the Brown Smolder to my creases and outside edge of my lids for a more smokey look. The warm/brown tones really bring out the blue in my eyes.

And there you have it, folks!

My everyday makeup routine. It takes me about 5 minutes to do this and the results are great. It is the ame make up I've used in all my Bump-Date photos, so you can see it is a very natural look.

What are your everyday makeup staples?

Bump-Date // Week 14

{Dress: H&M last year (similar)}

Officially out of the 1st trimester and feeling a lot better!

We had to take this photo in the morning over the weekend (I usually have been taking them in the evening) and I'm noticing my bump looks smaller than the one I took at 13 weeks?! I have noticed that the bump grows throughout the day and now I have proof! (My tan is looking a little better in this one as well, thank goodness!)

How far along:  14 weeks!

Baby size: Lemon :)

Baby's progress: Baby is about 3.4 inches long and weighs about 1.5 ounces; he/she has almost doubled in size since last week! Right now, baby can suck his/her thumb and wiggle the toes! (source: The Bump)

Weight gain: Don't know... don't want to know! Two words...Pizza and Donuts...

Stretch marks: Nothing yet! Started using Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter on belly and boobs (yep, they are growing too!)

Sleep: Falling asleep is easy. I have had to get up a few times through out the night to go to the bathroom :/ The getting up to pee thing is getting quite annoying!

Gender: Don't know yet... Can't wait to find out! I'm thinking boy, Bill is thinking girl. We will see who's right :) We will find out on our next appt on the 27th!!!

Movement: Nothing yet. Can't wait to feel this peanut moving! Hopefully soon!

Best moment this week: Starting to feel better through out the day. Able to get more done during the day. Finding more energy on the morning!

Looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!! Getting this burst of energy on the 2nd trimester that everyone is talking about. Starting to plan out the nursery :)

Food cravings: fruit, fruit juices, ice cream... The strawberry fro yo desire has gone down. Now all I want is smoothies from Pulp! Also, had a major craving for Papa John's pizza this week... We had it 2 nights in a row! Just love that garlic butter... Oh, and I had to get donuts for National Donut Day, duh! :)

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing really out of the ordinary??

Anything making you queasy or sick: Brushing my teeth still makes me a little queasy.  Some floral scents and cleaning products make me feel queasy too.

Labor signs: too early!

What I miss: I have been treating myself to 1 cup of half caff in the morning and ths has helped my craving for coffee. I have been missing wine lately... And sleeping through the night.

Symptoms: Just a touch of nausea still right before bed. Very tired in the afternoon/evening still.

Workouts: Went on a few long walks with Charlie. Started using my 5 lb weights to help tone my arms. I try to do about 10 - 20 minutes of arm exercises at night while I'm watching TV. I've noticed my arms starting to grow with the rest of my body which I am not happy about. Trying to at least get them toned!

That's all for this week's Bump-Date!

Weekend Fun!

This weekend flew by!

Friday was one of those days that I didn't feel like getting out of bed. My body was telling me, "hey, we need a day to rest." So, I did just that and it was glorious.
By the evening, I was feeling much better and even stepped outside with Charlie to enjoy the beautiful weather!

It was national donut day of Friday too! Did you celebrate? I was able to pick up these beauties from Tim Horton's... You can't tell a pregnant girl it's national donut day and NOT expect her to drop everything a go get some...

Saturday was spent celebrating one of my good friend's son's first birthday! It was a nautical theme. Everything was so cute!

Saturday night was spent in with Bill. We watched a movie and were in bed pretty early. Wow, are we getting old and boring! However, on Sunday I was up and at it early so that felt great. We made a big breakfast of eggs, bacon and french toast.

I received my Pink Blush Maternity shipment over the weekend! I am so excited that I found a website that has really cute maternity clothes for not a lot of $$. I will share what I got later this week!

The remainder of Sunday consisted of chores around the house and running errands. While I was out and about, I just so happened to pop into DSW and found a few deals that I couldn't say no to...

I have been looking for a neutral colored crossbody for a while and I just loved this one when I saw it. It was only $40! I also found this red leather Coach iPad case for only $40 (originally $178!). I was pumped!

Bill and I are also getting things organized in the spare bedroom to sell in order to make room for the new nursery. I can't wait to start decorating! Of course, I will be sharing the progress so stay tuned!

I'm linking up with Biana and Leeann!

Friday Five

Some of my favs this week include:

1 // My new kate spade pink wristlet (similar). Purchased during their surprise sale a few weeks ago. Love the color so much!

2 // Also loving my colored aviators by Peppers. I purchased them in a ski shop while in Colorado a few months ago. I get a ton of compliments on them!

3 // Pedicures... This girl was in desperate need of one! I have a feeling these will be happening a lot this Summer... Especially when I can no longer bend over to paint my toes :/

4 // I've posted this before, but I think I'm finally ready to splurge and buy a pair of Kendra Scott earrings... Which color to you like best? White pearl or pink?

5 // Another day, another maxi... Yep, I've added 2 new maxi dresses to my collection.

These are from Target and are both sooo comfy. They are not maternity, but are stretchy, so hoping I can still wear them for the next few months. I'm sure you will see these in future "Bump-Date" posts!

{left // right on sale for only $25!}

That's all for this week's 5 on Friday!

I'm linking up with AmandaLauren and Jennie!

Bump-Date // Week 13

Hello again!

This week, Stella has started to get her groove back! I am feeling less sick, but still tired through out the day. I am able to brush my teeth at night without gagging so that's exciting!

Boy, do I need to get a tan... Yikes!
The dress I am wearing is actually a maternity dress (yes, I'm already buying maternity clothes...). After reading Stephanie's blog and her love for this maternity clothes website, I had to get this dress (similar)! It is the most comfortable thing I've ever worn! The material is so soft too!

How far along:  13 weeks!

Baby size: Peach :)

Baby's progress: Baby is about 2.9 inches long and weighs about .81 ounces. Baby's head is now about 1/3 the size of the body. Baby has fingerprints and is forming vocal cords! (source: The Bump)

Weight gain: Don't know... don't want to know!!

Stretch marks: Nothing yet! Started using Burt's Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter on belly and boobs (yep, they are growing too!)

Sleep: Falling asleep is easy. I have had to get up a few times through out the night to go to the bathroom :/

Gender: Don't know yet... Can't wait to find out! I'm thinking boy, Bill is thinking girl. We will see who's right :)

Movement: None yet. Although, we did see our little peanut move a lot during the last ultrasound!

Best moment this week: Starting to feel better through out the day. Able to get more done during the day. Buying little peanut outfits!

Looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!! Also, getting out of the 1st trimester and getting more energy. And no more nausea please :/

Food cravings: strawberry frozen yogurt with rainbow sprinkles (Yep, this one is still going strong!), fruit, fruit juices, ice cream... This week I had to have mandarin oranges?! I've been eating a small pack a day. Also, smoothies! I found the best smoothie place by my house called, Pulp! My fav is the Anti-Oxiberry made with blueberry, pomegranate, acai and yogurt.

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing really out of the ordinary??

Anything making you queasy or sick: Brushing my teeth still makes me a little queasy.  Some floral scents and cleaning products make me feel queasy too.

Labor signs: too early!

What I miss: Coffee and having more energy. This week, I did miss the alcohol thing a little. While out to dinner for our date night, we sat on a really nice patio... Would have been nice to order a fruity cocktail or a glass of wine! Also miss fitting into my cute clothes/dresses/shorts... I guess that means I need to shop for cute maternity clothes!

Symptoms: Some nausea, but is getting better. Tired in the afternoon and evening. Bottomless pit! Always hungry!

Workouts: Went on a few long walks with Charlie. Randomly doing squats. I got a pregnancy Yoga DVD that I want to start doing this week.

Things that suck: Still feeling a little ill at times. Feeling tired through out the day. Not being able to go out and stay out too late. Not being able to enjoy a nice cold adult beverage on a patio during this awesome weather! Clothes and bras feeling tight!

Things that don't suck: There's so much that doesn't suck! Please reference this post :)

That's all for this week!

Awesome Pregnancy Moments // Trimester #1

It is true that there are many moments during my first trimester that I felt uncomfortable, sick and tired. However, there have been so many moments that make up for this short term discomfort and have made me realize how lucky I am to be pregnant.

1 // Telling our parents... This was the best moment of pregnancy by far! We told both sets of parents the weekend of Mother's Day. We framed this photo and put it in a gift bag. We made our mothers open this gift last and they both had the same reaction... Loud screams of joy, followed by lots of hugs and both our dads teared up a little!

2 // My first Mother's Day... The thought had not even crossed my mind that it was my first mother's day on May 11, 2014. I woke up in the morning to find a beautiful bouquet of flowers and the sweetest card from Bill. The gesture completely melted my heart!

3 // Seeing little peanut on the ultrasound... Not gonna lie, these ultrasound photos used to creep me out. People will post them on facebook and share them with everyone! To me they all looked the same... Now that it's my little peanut in there, I love looking at him/her!!! I have a copy of the most recent one in my purse at all times. I take it out and look at it whenever I feel like I need to remind myself why I feel fat/tired/nauseous/overwhelmed... And then, it all makes sense and all those negative thoughts just slip away :)

4 // Buying baby clothes... Yes, I already have a shopping problem and I don't even know what the gender is yet! I can only imagine how much worse this addiction is going to get once I know if it's a boy or a girl...

5 // Having an excuse to eat ice cream &/or fro yo everyday... Baby wants fro yo? Baby gets fro yo!! this has been my go to craving everyday!!

6 // Celebrating the end of trimester #1... It is the last week of my 1st trimester and I am starting to feel physically a lot better. Not as much nausea. If I do feel it, it's only right before I go to bed. Still tired, but that is getting better too. Bill and I went on a date night this past weekend and I enjoyed a "mocktail"!! I even stayed out until almost 10 pm! Whoo hoo!

7 // Feeling so much love and support from friends and family... This is up there too with the best moment. After telling our close friends and family, there was a overflow of love and support. We got so many cards in the mail and little gifts. My brother gave me the most beautiful bouquet of tulips that lasted a long time! Also, talking to friends that have had babies or are pregnant has been so wonderful. I'm lucky to have such a great support group!

{Follow me on instagram here}

There you have it. It truly is one of the best feelings in the world!
I can't believe I'm already almost 1/3 of the way to my due date!
I'll be back tomorrow with my 13 week "Bump-Date"!
