Camden's Baptism + Packing for Germany

We had such a lovely weekend with family in celebration of Camden's baptism on Sunday. Some of Bill's family came from out of town about 2 hours away just for this special event. The service went really well and Camden didn't even cry! He seemed pretty content through out the whole thing!

I opted for this christening romper instead of a traditional gown for him just in case it was a little warm that day (which it was). I didn't want him to get too fussy under a hot gown. Of course, his cute little blue loafers I had him wearing with the outfit kept falling off so I had to nix them right before his turn to be baptized. Other than that, the day went off with out a hitch! Here are a few recap photos:

After the service, I changed him into this adorable monogramed romper from this etsy shop.

It was a beautiful day and one that we will remember and cherish forever!

The next few days are going to be filled with packing and preparing for our trip to Germany/Austria. We leave Thursday morning and until then, I will be soaking up as much baby snuggles and love as I can get!

Here are a few items I plan on packing:

I will be taking a little blogging break during our trip, but will be back towards the end of the month for a recap! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Friday Five

ONE || I love finding hidden gems at Target. This embroidered tank is on clearance right now! I plan on wearing it in Germany and have the perfect pink shorts to pair it with. Also, loving these cat eye sunnies.

TWO || You probably have a BBQ you are either attending or hosting this weekend... am I right? Still deciding what side to bring/make? We are having a little get together after Cam's baptism this Sunday at our house. We will be serving hot dogs, hamburgers and pulled pork sliders. My mom will be bringing pasta salad and I am planning to make this Jalapeno & Corn Dip and the ever popular Asian Ramen Salad. Both are pretty simple and are definite crowd pleasers!

THREE || I had the pleasure of writing this post for sheknows.com in colaboration with Experience Columbus on my top 13 things to do in Columbus this summer. If you live in or plan on visiting Columbus, you should definitely add these to your list of things to do! Most of the items are also on my summer bucket list.

FOUR || J.Crew is having an amazing sale this weekend! Like 40 - 60% off final sale items! Just use code LONGWEEKEND at check out. This tassel dress is only $18 after discount! I may have to add it to my closet this weekend!

FIVE || I am so excited for my baby's baptism! I just love that we have family members attending from both sides to join in the celebration! What better way to enjoy the holiday weekend?!

Happy 4th of July everyone!
USA USA USA!!

Lately...

Hi Friends! Remember me?

First and foremost, I did a little revamp of the blog. You like? I purchased and downloaded this premade blogger template and then added a few customizations myself. It's still a work in progress, but I feel as though it is a lot cleaner!

Secondly, Sorry I've been MIA this week. We had a busy weekend in Bill's hometown for his Dad's retirement party. Camden slept well at their house over night, but did not nap all day on Sunday and was fussy pretty much the whole party. I had him strapped in the Baby Bjorn for a majority of the party which was a life saver! It helped with setting up for the party and also helped during the party so my arms wouldn't get sore. I think he was a little overwhelmed with all the people and commotion. He is also about to pop another tooth, so that could be a part of the reason too.

The retirement party went well and there was a great turn out! Bill and his brother and sister presented a great little speech with a slide show about his father's life and career. They even dressed up for the occasion!

He was looking very Don Draper in his bow tie! :)

I had to do a little outfit change with Camden in the middle because of a wet diaper leaking (note to self: don't use store brand diapers), but he was still pretty cute...

That's Bill's dad as a baby! Looks very similar to Cam!

This week, I am busy getting ready for Cam's baptism on Sunday. We are having about 25 people over to our house after the service and will be grilling hot dogs, hamburgers, etc with some traditional summer BBQ sides. Very 4th of July! Hopefully, I can get the house all cleaned and get everything prepared by the end of the week!

Not to mention, next Thursday we are leaving for our Germany/Austria trip! I can't believe we are leaving in just a little over a week. I'm really starting to get nervous about missing my baby... Trying not to think about it until I have to.

{btw - this is all I have packed so far... neck pillow, selfie stick and travel books... what else do I need?!}

So, obviously I may be a little absent from the blog for a bit.
I hope you understand! I'll try to pop in a few times before we leave for a recap of Cam's baptism and possibly a post about what I'm packing for Germany.

Hope you all are having a great week!
