Our MDW + Life Lately

Raise your hand if you are having trouble getting back into the swing of things after the holiday weekend (*insert raise hand emoji*)...

Bill's parents came for a visit over the long weekend and it was so nice to spend time with them. Bill's dad helped with a big landscaping project Bill started in our backyard. There was a koi pond off to the side of our back yard that was just an eyesore and an obvious safety hazard for our dog and toddler, so he started tearing it out and they were able to fill it with soil and level it off. Now, it just needs some sod and we will have a nice grassy area to play on for Camden and baby 2! A big project that would no doubt cost us thousands if we were to hire landscapers! We were very grateful for the help! We weren't able to make it to the memorial day parade like we had planned, but we did have a nice little cookout at home.

We also all went to Camden's last swim lesson which is always fun to watch. Although, that afternoon, he started coming down with a bad cold/cough and I'm starting to think it came from swimming. He just didn't feel very well the rest of the weekend. We did manage to set up his new water table, which he loved playing with! We also worked on baby proofing more of our first floor so Camden can kind of roam around as he pleases. He doesn't really love to be confined in the 'playroom' for too long. And that boy LOVES being outside! It's so great to be able to take him outside now that the weather is nice.

Sadly, we have decided not to open our pool this season just with everything going on (having a baby being the big one). There is just so much involved and we really want to do our research on safety, chemicals, etc before we open it. I'm sure we will enjoy our pool for many years to come so I'm not too bummed about it. And let's be honest, I may not be too anxious to get in a bathing suit after baby arrives.

Less than 4 weeks from today baby #2 will be here! We scheduled the c section for the 28th of June! Praying all goes well for the next few weeks! So, obviously June will be all about preparing for baby. I will try not to post strictly baby related things, but it's really all I can think about at this point! I'm so ready to wear something other than this dress... It has been on serious rotation the past few weeks and probably will continue to be this month!

Hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend and that your 4 day week is flying by!
Oh, and happy June!!

*Don't forget, the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale is still going on now through the 5th!

It's that time of year again! The Nordstrom Half Yearly sale is going on now through June 5th. There are so many great items on sale, but I'm realizing they are going fast! I started saving some items a few days ago only to find them out of stock the next day!

So, if you find something you like, don't wait to buy it!

Here are my top picks:
Chain fringe pendant necklace (45% off, only $11.98!)
Treasure&Bond one pocket burnout tee (50% off, originally $42)
Stem flowy lightweight tank (40% off, bought this last summer and LOVE it!)
Jack Rogers Whipstitched flip flop (20% off, these will most likely go fast!)
Cozy Zoe lace trim PJ shorts (40% off, only $16.80!)

I told myself that I need to go on a shopping freeze for the next month before baby arrives, but I can't resist a good deal! Currently, I have in my cart the burnout tee, the fringe pendant necklace and the PJ shorts. I also have this phone case that is not on sale, but is perfect for the summer!

Things that make me happy...

*This boy on a swing! He loves it! It was such a nice weekend! We went to the park Friday evening (it was a bit chilly that night) and Saturday during the day. Both times, Camden went straight to the swings!

*Warm weather is finally here (and hopefully staying)! We didn't have any plans this past weekend, so we spent a lot of it just playing outside with Camden and getting a few things done around the house.

*Working on the nursery. We bought the crib and mattress for the nursery and Bill put up the black out curtains. The nursery is slowly coming together! I probably won't finish it until after baby arrives. We have a double bed in there right now in place of the crib so I can sleep with him for the first month or so before we start crib training. I just wanted him to get used to sleeping in the same room every night. I think that was one thing that threw Camden off in the beginning when we started crib training.

*Knowing we have a little over a month until baby #2 arrives!

*Scheduling a hair appointment. Seriously, it is time! These roots are out of control! Next week I will be 'blonded' for the last time before baby!

*Collaborating with some awesome baby brands! Details to come soon!!

*Camden having a perfectly healthy 18 month check up! Always nice to hear those words from his doctor!

*Spending time with my family of three. Bill and I have been putting Camden to bed together at night and it's one of my favorite times of the day. Bill has been reading to Camden at night since he no longer fits on my lap in the chair (#bigbelly). It melts my heart to see these two together.

And here are some more pictures that make me happy! :)
