#WIW Wednesday

Welcome to another edition of #WIW Wednesday! This week I have a few outfits that are perfect for the transitioning fall temps. It's all about layers during September because it can be chilly in the mornings and evenings and warm during the day. So, easy take on and off layers are perfect for this month.

I just ordered and received this vest and I love it (bonus, it's on sale right now, almost 50% off)! I had my eye on it last year and just never pulled the trigger. It' not as heavy as it looks, but adds the perfect amount of warmth and style to an otherwise basic outfit.

My basic 'momiform' at the moment is these leggings, tee shirts and comfortable sneakers. If I want to add some style or if it's chilly out and I need to run an errand, I love that I can throw on this vest and go!

This second outfit is a different variation of the first, just adding a long sleeved tee and booties for a more 'weekend' look or if it's a bit too cold for a short sleeved top.

Another great layering piece is a blanket scarf. Did you catch my latest Friday Finds post with all my favorite blanket scarfs out right now? Make sure to purchase them now before all the good ones are out of stock!

Side note: I also bought these cutoff denim shorts in the same order as the vest. Since it is still warm out, I was able to wear them to go apple picking this past weekend! They are so comfortable and on sale right now for $29.50!

Apple Picking + Other Fall To Do's

It was such a great weekend for apple picking! The sun was shining and it was a comfortable 75 degrees. I have been wanting to take Camden apple picking since we didn't get to last year. I was so excited to find a farmstand with an apple orchard less than 15 minutes away from our house. So, Sunday we loaded up the 2 babes and headed out. Even though it takes a lot of effort to get 2 little ones out of the house, I'm always so happy once we are out and I'm so glad we got the chance to create this memory!

I'm also glad we were able to check off one of my Fall To Do List items. Here's what I'm hoping to do this season:

+ Visit a pumpkin patch with the kids and pick out pumpkins to actually carve this year. (Of course take obligatory baby with pumpkins photo)

+ Find some pretty mums to put on our porch.

+ Figure out some cute costume idea for the boys this Halloween... I'm struggling with this!

+ Make at least 1 batch of chili and apple cider (spiked cider is a bonus).

+ Actually enjoy a fire in our fire pit in the back yard on a crisp autumn night.

+ Plan our anniversary 'stay-cation' in Chicago. We are hoping to spend a 2 days and 1 night in Chicago for our anniversary/my birthday weekend in November.

+ Enjoy many PSL's and pumpkin flavored items! :)

Friday Finds : Scarf Season!

bottom row: one | two | three

Scarf season is upon us! It may still be a bit warm out to rock a big, oversized blanket scarf, but you will want to purchase your scarfs for the upcoming season now before they are out of stock. I remember last year, all the good blanket scarves sold out so quickly!

A scarf is a great transitional piece to wear while the temperatures are changing. You can throw one on with a tee shirt and jeans when it's a crisp autumn day or layer it on with a sweater and vest when it gets really cold.

I've listed some of my favorites below, all of which are $40 or less!

Happy Friday and Happy Scarf Season!
