Weekending

Well, Cam's first Halloween is in the books! He was the cutest Elmo I've ever seen! We had our trick or treat in our neighborhood on Thursday, so that's when he spent most of his time in the fury costume. Surprisingly, he didn't mind it at all! It was a bit chilly, so I'm sure it kept him warm!

I also had the guts to DIY a cookie monster costume for our dog, Charlie. Although, you may not want to look too closely, it was just enough to get a good photo of the two muppets together.

Cam had a fun time watching the other kids in costumes come to our door. I think he was very curious about this fun holiday! We didn't actually take him to any houses, but we did stop by my parents' house and they gave him a few pieces of candy for his bucket. :)

One of my good friends had a day time costume party for all the kids on Saturday. There were 10 babies/kids there all under 4 (the oldest being 3 year old triplets)! It was so fun to see all the babes in there little costumes. We reminisced about how just a few years ago we were having costume parties for ourselves and going to bars downtown for Halloween. Boy, how times have changed!

On Sunday, we completed a few house chores and took a little family outing to Babies R Us. I have been wanting to get Cam a new convertible car seat since he's pretty much at the max high for his infant carrier now. We ended up buying the newest version of the Graco 4ever All-in-1 convertible car seat. We debated over several different ones, but we liked the safety ratings, reviews and the fact that it comes with a booster seat attached.

While we were there, we also picked up this eye sore for our house...

It is totally worth it! He kept himself busy for a good 30 minutes while I did dishes and cleaned the kitchen last night. And we opted for the play mat that looks like hardwood and it almost matches our floors exactly!

Yes... this is the most exciting thing about my weekend these days... How was yours?
Please tell me you went to some awesome costume party and sipped on cocktails and rubbed elbows with someone famous...

I'm linking up with Biana for weekending!

Baby Favorites || Small Toys (6 - 12 months)

I am still in disbelief that my baby is turning 1 in less than a month. In honor of Cam's upcoming birthday celebration, I wanted to start a mini series of our 'baby favorites' highlighting some of Cam's (and mommy's) favorite things. This series will run for the next month and I will be posting weekly with different categories of favorites.

This week is all about small toys. Every morning we have playtime in the family room (which has now turned into Cam's playroom). I have 3 baskets with small toys that we keep in our cabinet under the tv for easy access. These toys help keep him busy while I rush to make that first glorious cup of coffee.

Here is a round up of Cam's favorite small toys (each under $16):

1 || Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Click n Learn Remote - Cam goes straight for our remote when it's in his sight. This one was a no brainer. It has big buttons, lights up and really obnoxious voices that sing and say numbers and such.

2 || VTech Rhyme and Discover Book - We have a similar sound book made by Fisher Price at our house, but my mom purchased this one to keep at their house and Cam loves it! The 'pages' are thick and plastic so it's easy for him to turn them and the buttons, lights and sounds keep him very entertained.

3 || Fisher-Price Babys First Blocks and Rock Stack Bundle - This was given to us by Bill's parents and it is one of the most used toys! Camden loves the rings, especially the one on the top that rattles. We also love the blocks and bucket for learning shapes and colors.

4 |Baby Einstein Roller-pillar Activity Balls - These are a recent find from Target. Camden loves the balls that rattle and the smiley face one lights up when you hit it.

5 || Oball Grip & Play Sensory Toy - This is the perfect distraction in the high chair. Cam usually plays with this for a bit while I get his food ready. It suctions right to the high chair tray!

6 || Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups - These are definitely on heavy demand these days. The cups not only stack, but they also nest in each other. Cam loves to bang these together and drop them on our hardwood floor! This boy loves to make noise!

7 || Baby Einstein Musical Toy- Keys to Discovery Piano - This was actually a gift I added to his Easter basket and has been one of his favorites ever since. The little piano keys play music and also say "1, 2, 3" in english and spanish. It is also a great toy for on the go and in the car.

8 || Little Tikes Play Triangle - I got this toy for Cam shortly after he started sitting up. I liked that he could sit with it and play. There are so many little gadgets that he can explore. It's also lightweight and rattles when he picks it up.

There you have it! The first round of Cam's favorites!

We are taking Cam trick or treating (to my parents house and maybe our neighbors tops) tonight! I can't wait to see him in his little fury costume :) Follow me on instagram to get a little peak at all the fun tonight!

Fall Basics || Mixing Patterns

striped long sleeve tee (less than $10!) | blanket scarf (out of stock, similar here and here) | jean leggings | boot socks (similar) | hunter boots | satchel | ray bans

It is really starting to feel like fall now. This week it has been quite frigid in the mornings. We did have a sunny day in the afternoon on Monday, but the rest of this week is looking chilly, grey with some showers. This outfit is my go to on cold rainy days. This blanket scarf (out of stock currently, but I've linked to similar ones below) is so warm and is literally the size of a blanket! I've been meaning to do a post on how to wear a blanket scarf, but for time's sake if you need some inspiration, click here

One of my favorite fall trends this year is mixing stripes with plaid. This striped long sleeve tee is so comfy and it's less than $10!! I've also 'invested' in a similar white striped long sleeved tunic that I love for layering with my blankets scarves.

I can't believe it's just a few days away from Halloween and it will be November next week!
Our neighborhood's Halloween is tomorrow night and I can't wait to get Cam dressed to go trick or treating! We probably will only make it to a few houses, but it will be fun!

Happy Wednesday and happy fall shopping!
