Pink & Gold Bridal Shower

Hello! I'm back!
My apologies for the lack of posts last week.
I was traveling for work and the time escaped me!

I had the honor of attending a very fabulous bridal shower for one of my closest friends this past weekend. I helped with some of the decor and set up in the morning.
The theme was gold, glitz and glam with colors being gold (duh!), pink , black and white.

If you follow me on instagram, then you may have already seen these pics :)

The shower was at 11am, so we served brunch food.
The bride's fiance works in the restaurant industry and had most of the food catered.
Some of the options were mini quiches, home fries, candied bacon, mini muffins, mini cinnamon rolls, bagels and cream cheese and fruit salad. Everything was delicious!

The tables were decorated with pink linens and a black and white chevron runner.
We used some of the gold vases from my wedding and filled them with pretty pink carnations for the centerpieces.

There was a bubbly bar complete with fruit and juices for mixers.
Of course I made straws for the occasion :)
The hostess had the great idea to paint the bottom of the champ glasses with enamel gold paint.
They turned out perfect!

The bride-to-be in front of the bubbly bar :)
The glitter champagne bottles were made by brushing on Modge Podge and rolling in glitter.
The hostess also made the gold circle chandelier you see behind her... She is so crafty!

I found the perfect cocktail napkins for the occasion {here}.

My attire for the shower was a black dress from H&M and this statement necklace from Fancesca's Collection

The rest of my weekend consisted of relaxing, hibernating and catching up on house work.

How was your weekend?

xoxo, Lindsay

My Shower / Bachelorette Party!

This post has been a long time coming! My wonderful and generous Matron of Honor, Melissa, planned the most fun, creative and lovely shower / bachelorette party for me this past October. She knew I am a sucker for a good theme and tablescape, so she sought out the help of Meleka of MMJ Events here in Columbus for help with planning and decor. A bubbly bar, Kate Spade inspired, essie nail polish favors, pretty flowers, polka dots, stripes, glitter, pink, a food spread that is nothing to laugh at, bow tie napkins... So many aspects of what I love all wrapped up into one gorgeous bridal celebration!

She even hired a professional photographer to capture the moments of the magical day!
Here are a few highlights from the party...

DIY Tassel Garland {SPD}

I have wanted to try {this DIY} for a while now and I'm so glad I was able to make one for the Love Sweet Love bridal shower I co-hosted this past weekend.

It is surprisingly not as tough as it may seem. The trick is to find a higher quality tissue paper that is thick enough to not rip or tear while twisting and gluing.

{Materials needed}

3 packs of preferred color of tissue paper
twine or string of choice {make sure it is not too think so you can string it through the tassels}
hot glue gun
scissors

{Directions}

 photo 5ed3d757-4a18-43dd-b8c0-a407ba783350_zps0184020e.jpg
1 // Start with one sheet of tissue paper on a flat surface.
2 // Fold it lengthwise.
3 // Then, fold widthwise.
4 // Then, fold again widthwise.

5 // Cut strips into the tissue paper leaving 2 inches of space at the top.
6 // Unfold once and cut down the middle section.
7 // Unfold again and cut so you have 4 separate fringed pieces {one sheet of tissue makes 4 tassels!}
8 // Roll each piece lengthwise. Make sure not to get the fringe tangled.

 9 // Twist each tassel in the middle section and bend to create a loop.
10 // Dab a few dots of hot glue to keep loop in place. Hold in place while the glue dries for a few minutes.
11 // Line up tassels in your preferred color order.

Lastly, string and enjoy!

This red, pink and white garland worked perfectly in front of the sweets table at the shower.

Love Sweet Love Bridal Shower

My weekend was consumed with crafting and decorating the house for a close friend's bridal shower. The theme was "Love Sweet Love", so the M.O.H. had the brilliant idea of having a little sweets table. She found the adorable "Love Sweet Love" banner form a shop on etsy and we decided to tie in the colors of red, pink and white through out the shower décor.
