Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Friends!

Tonight Bill and I have our hospital tour. I'm excited to see where it's all gonna go down in a few months. Also, on my to do list this weekend is seeing "Gone Girl" the movie. Did any of you read the book? It was really good!

Here's what I'm loving recently:

1 | Little boy clothes... That look like little men clothes! I can't get enough! I am seriously not allowed in the baby section at any store for the next month...

2 | Winning Katie's one year of blogging giveaway and receiving these goodies in the mail yesterday! Really made my week! Can't wait to use them :) Thanks Katie!

3 | Soups... I can't get enough! I think I'm going to try my hand at this recipe for homemade butternut squash & apple soup this weekend. Bill's parents gave us a huge butternut squash from their garden recently and I wasn't sure what to do with it. Wish me luck!

4 | I found sugar free Pumpkin Spice creamer at Target the other day. It is so much better than the real deal... Plus, I am saving some serious $$ making my cup of joe at home instead of going to Starbucks for my pumpkin fix.

4 | This weekend it is supposed to get down in the 40s/50s... Burrr! I think this will be my attire all weekend!

Have a wonderful weekend!

October Goals

What?! It's October already? Where has the Summer gone?

I have to say, I am pretty excited for this month. First, we are getting closer to meeting our baby boy (2 months to go!). And second, it is truly fall here in Ohio! Bring on the pumpkins, the changing leaves, flannel, boots, football and crock pot meals! I really do love this time of year (almost as much as Christmas)!

I have done pretty well with my September Goals

1 | Finish majority of nursery This is pretty much complete! We have all the big items in there, just need to finish hanging some things on the walls, add bedding and some finishing touches. Can't wait to share!

2 | Organize and clean up guest room/office I'm going to say this is complete. We cleaned out most of it and I even cleaned off my desk so I can actually work in there. There is still some organizing I would like to do, but it is pretty much done.

3 | Decorate for Fall Done! Here's a little peak of our fall decor.

4 | Finish wall gallery in dining room I am going to say this is complete for now. I would like to add to it down the road, but I'm happy with the way it is for now.

5 | Look for new bedding for our bedroom. I have failed to do this... We spent a lot on nursery items this past month, so I think we have to hold off on this for another month or so...

6 | Schedule pregnancy/birthing classes This is complete! We have our hospital tour on Friday and have scheduled our birthing classes for October. I also want to sign up for a newborn basics class as well.

7 | Order a new 2015 planner Done! Here she is!

8 | Get Fall candles and Pumpkin Spice creamer Done and done! I even found sugar free pumpkin spice creamer at Target! I like it a lot better than the regular stuff.

9 | Find a nice pair of flats I purchased these flats from Old Navy and have been wearing them a lot. They are pretty comfy! I really want the Tory Burch ones... Oh well, maybe next year!

10 | Take maternity photos Done! You can see them here!

Phew! Ok, now for October...

October Goals

1 | Finish decor in nursery and post a reveal by the end of the month.

2 | Host a dinner party with girl friends (this is scheduled for next week!)

3 | Start planning baby shower for a very close friend :)

4 | Send out thank you's for baby shower(s)

5 | Clean out closet and sell or donate clothes.

6 | Find good nursing bras and tops.

7 | Shopping freeze... I can only spend money on baby necessities (not clothes) and/or maternity necessities.

8 | Make at least one meal from Pinterest per week.

9 | Complete a DIY project and post on the blog.

10 | Make plans for our 1st anniversary in November!

There you have it!

What are your goals for this month?

I'm linking up aith Annie and Natalie for Thought for Thursday.

Bumpdate | 30 weeks!

{ dress via Pink Blush Maternity }

I can't believe we are at 30 weeks!
That means there are only 10 short weeks (or less) until we meet our little Cam!

I am hoping these next few months just fly by, but at the same time I'm glad I have a few months to get things in order. We have our hospital tour scheduled for Friday and our birthing classes later this month. I am also thinking about signing up for either a breast feeding class or a newborn basics class. I will take all the advice/knowledge I can get!

PS - I passed my glucose test! Yippee!

FACTS
  • Baby Cam is between 15.2 and 16.7 inches long and weighs between 2.5 and 3.8 pounds... whoa baby! (Source: The Bump)
  • I am currently 30 weeks and 4 days pregnant as of today.
  • His skin is getting smoother, but his brain is getting wrinklier - to make way for all that essential brain tissue (Source: The Bump)
  • He is strong enough to grip a finger now!

Not so fun things
  • Back, neck and hips ache a lot. I am finding that the prenatal yoga does help stretch out some of those sore muscles and helps aline my spine.
  • Waking up every 2 hours (no joke) in the night to switch sides. My hips start to ache so bad that it wakes me up :/
  • Having to rooooolllll out of bed now... It takes a few minutes lol!
  • Tired all day due to lack of sleep.
  • Acid reflux is here to stay I think. I feel it after almost every meal. I have to keep some tums on me at all times.
  • Out of breath a lot. Especially carrying anything or walking up stairs.
  • I can't wear my wedding rings anymore :( It was off an on for a bit, but now they are just a little too tight for comfort... I am very sad about not being able to wear them!
Random things
  • I had thought most of my cravings had subsided during my second trimester. Well, as soon as I entered the 3rd, I started craving... get this... ICE! I want to crunch on ice all day. Sometimes I'll just go through a drive through and order an ice water for the perfectly bite sized cubes... I have heard this can mean low iron, but my iron levels came back normal after my glucose test. Who knows?!
  • Also craving all things pumpkin and squash! I am normally very excited about these flavors around this time, but I feel like the cravings are heightened because of my pregnancy. I have had Panera's Autumn Squash soup probably at least once a week for the past few weeks!
  • The juice craving is also back in full force. I have to have a big glass of OJ in the morning or I don't feel right. I've been drinking Tropicana 50 (reduced calories and sugar) to keep my sugar levels down.
Really awesome things
  • Celebrating Cam's first shower with all my good friends! Seriously, that will be the highlight of my month! I also loved going through all his new things and just dreaming about using all of them when he's here. Who knew little babies needed so much stuff?!
  • The nursery is coming together! We got the glider in there so I am able to just sit and take it all in. I am also going to be reading to him (in my belly) starting this week. I've heard it is good for him to hear my voice.
  • Feeling this little active bug all day long. He is mostly active after my morning cup of Joe, when I drink or eat something sugary and when I drink something cold (or eat ice). Maybe that's why I've been on an ice kick... I just want to feel him move! He is also really active at night which makes me worried that he will be a night owl :/
That's all for this bumpdate!
I will probably try to post one every other week until we hit 36 weeks. Then, things should get really interesting, so I'll be posting weekly.
