You could say this is the perfect transitional dress going from summer to fall! I love the utility style of this dress so much because you can dress it up or down. Perfect option for work or play! And best part, it's under $28!!
This dress comes in 3 colors including this pretty burgundy, yellow and grey. I suggest sizing down if you are 5'4" or shorter for length, other wise you should be good with your true size. I am 5'2" and am wearing an XS for reference.
I have been wearing this dress on it's own with flats or sandals now since the weather is still very much like summer! It is really great for these hot summer days because it's so flowy! This is a perfect wear to work then wear out to dinner or drinks. Or would also be perfect for parent teacher orientation, events, etc.

One way to transition it to fall is to add a denim jacket, booties and a hat! Perfect for apple picking, pumpkin patches, fall weekend get togethers, etc.

Another way to transition this dress to fall would be to add a blanket scarf and tall boots. I'm loving this look for fall family photos!

Last, but not least... For my working ladies, this would be perfect if you work in a business casual office or would be a great teacher outfit. I live this dress with the leopard belt and you can throw on a long cardigan if it gets chilly!

I am working on a Fall Capsule Wardrobe post for you guys and hoping it will be done by the end of the month! But, wanted to share this dress in case it goes out of stock!
I've been working on 'upping' my shoe game this season. I am very picky about shoes (and they only go on my feet... name that movie!) so, it takes a lot for me to commit to a pair that I like. I'm all for spending a little more for a pair that I know will not only last a long time but that is actually comfortable to wear.
However, I'm loving all the different sandal trends that have been popular this season and I wanted to be able to have a handful of options for different occasions to choose from. So, I have been successful at scoring some really cute, trendy sandals for less!
Here are my top 8 favorite shoes for spring and summer:
1. Tory Burch Miller Sandals (I have the color 'make up'): My favorite (and most expensive) pair are these tory burch miller sandals. It took me a while to understand why these were so popular. They are really just leather flip flops with the tory burch logo. But, they are the most comfortable pair of nice looking flip flops of all time! You can dress these up or down. And the fact that they have been popular for years and years now makes me think they are not going out of style any time soon! I'm all about investing in one pair of shoes for each season and for me these sandals were going to be my 'splurge' for spring and summer because I know I will wear them constantly! I got the color 'make up' for reference and it is the perfect neutral tan color with just a hint of blush tones. It is definitely a flattering color on my skin tone. FOR SIZING: It was recommended to me to go up at least a half size in these. I'm typically between a 6.5 and 7 with shoes and I ordered a 7 and they fit great!
2. Jack Rodgers 'Georgica' Jelly Flip Flop (I have an off white color, probably closest to the 'bone' color): I got these a few years ago and they have been such a great summer sandal! Because they are made of the flexible 'jelly' material, they are perfect for the pool, beach, etc. I love that these are fashionable, comfortable AND functional summer shoes!
3. Old Navy Bow Slides: I actually have these in 2 colors, black and blush! They are the perfect slide on your feet and go shoes. And the cute bow just adds a little more to your regular slide sandals.
4. Old Navy Double Strap Sandals: I bought these because they actually look a lot like a designer pair, but of course for a lot less! The gold tone is a great neutral shade and the double straps make for a comfortable fit.
5. Old Navy Bow Wedges: I mean, I obviously can't say 'no' to any shoe with a bow! And when I saw the wedge version of my bow sandals, I had to get a pair!
6. Target (A New Day) Ema High Block Heel Pumps: I bought these pumps because I needed a more 'dressier' pair. I LOVE the block heel trend and the simple, classic look of these (plus the price tag) got my attention! I have been wearing them more than I thought I would and they are surprisingly comfortable! I love that I can pair them with jeans or dresses!
8. Nine West Wedge Pump: These are actually a few years old and it looks like there's only one size left in a white color (mine have nude colored straps), but they have been a great pair for spring and summer over the past few years! I actually have this pair on my current wishlist and I've linked to a few others that are similar below... I think a classic pair of nude/neutral wedges are a closet staple for spring and summer!
Hello, friends! I bring you volume 2 of my Spring and Summer Capsule series! This post is all about jeans! I may do another post closer to summer regarding shorts, but for right now with this weather... I'm still covering my legs!
I think it's important to have a variety of jeans available for all seasons and occasions in your closet. For Spring and Summer, I like to have a good pair of white jeans, a light wash distressed pair of jeans and a dark wash pair available in my closet for a variety of occasions. I have listed below the jeans that I currently have and love, as well as some jeans that are on my wish list.
Let's start with this pair of dark washed, raw hem jeans. I got this pair a few weeks ago and I have been wearing them non-stop! They are ankle length with a 'chewed hem' as they call it and have the slightest distressing sprinkled on the front. But, these are the perfect running errands in my flip flops during the day and then throw on a pair of heels for date night pair of jeans! They fit maybe a little larger than normal, but I went ahead and got my normal size in the petite length (I'm 5' 2") and they fit great!

Second up are these distressed, high waist jeans. They are considered jeggings most likely because of how soft and stretchy they are. And pair that with the high waist and it's like you're basically wearing high waisted leggings! These were my first pair of high waisted jeans and to be honest, I don't know what took me so long! I'm much more comfortable in a mid or high rise jeans these days (RIP low rise). I got my true size in these, but they do run a big snug with the high waist! But, mine have stretched out a bit with wear.
Lastly, my favorite pair of white distressed jeans. I bought these last summer and have worn them constantly (besides the winter months) ever since! They have good stretch and are mid rise, so I feel a bit more confident wearing them. They are not see through and have butt pockets which is a must with white denim! I would say these run true to size as well.
These are definitely my top 3 most worn jeans currently. I also wear this pair quite often and refer to them as my 'church' jeans 😂 Because there is no distressing on them and they are very basic and flattering!
I've linked to several other similar styles to these jeans below:
If you caught my instastories earlier in the week, you know I've been working on cleaning out, editing and organizing my closet for spring. The first step was to go through everything and pick out items that I haven't worn in over a year that are still in good condition and try to sell them. I have a poshmark account (find me @lindsllstyling) and I've had some success selling my gently used, still in good condition clothes and accessories at some second hand stores here in town. Once that is done, I usually will donate all clothes that are left that I no longer wear or need. Once I paired down my clothing items to the stuff I actually wear, I started organizing everything by season. I put the spring, summer stuff on the side that is easily accessible and put all my fall/winter stuff on another side. I also went through all my accessories, handbags, shoes and jewelry the same way.
In doing this, I was able to take some inventory of what I had in my closet already for the spring and summer seasons and what I needed to add to my 'wish' list. I was going to list out everything in one post, but I realized it would be lengthy, so I decided to break out everything into categories.
For this first edition of my Spring/Summer capsule series, I'm going to talk about tee shirts! These are staples in my closet and I feel like you can never have too many comfortable, soft, easy to throw on t-shirts!
A few of my favorite t-shirts that I purchased last year were this Lush v-neck (I have the grey color in size MED, but probably could have done a SM), these Caslon rounded v-neck tees (size small, these run big) and this BP Raw Edge V-neck tee (in SM, run TTS). You may have noticed that all of these are from Nordstrom. And that is intentional! When it comes to a t-shirt, you might think 'why would I spend more money on a t-shirt?!' and my answer to that is because you wear them all the time! I have a few t shirts that I have purchased from Target or Old Navy and to be honest, they start to look bad after just a few times in the wash! AND, as always Nordstrom always offers free shipping and returns!
This Lush tee says 'dry clean only' which is silly. You do not need to dry clean this tee! I simply put it in the washing machine on delicate and flat or line dry. Easy peasy! And this one I probably wear most often!! It is so soft and has stayed soft and new looking for almost a year!
These Caslon tees are also a great staple and I will most likely buy a few more colors this year! I bought a few different striped versions last year and I'm loving the new patterns this season! The rounded v-neck is perfect too because it still has the flattering shape of a v-neck, but isn't too deep that you feel like you are 'exposed'! Nothing worse than hanging around with toddlers that like to pull at your shirt or when you bend over to pick them up and you feel like everything is hanging out lol!
I love how soft and light weight these BP Raw Edge v-neck tees are and I'm loving all the new, bright colors for spring! I bought this one last year in a light pink color and wear it so much! I may have to snag this one in black and another bright color to wear with my white jeans.
There you have it! My top pics for tees! I'm hoping to share a new volume of this series each week with a new staple item for spring/summer.
Let me know in the comments what your staple items are for spring and summer!
