Target Try On | March 2019

I found some really cute and transitional items at Target yesterday! Even though it's still freezing out here in Ohio, I know those transitional temps are right around the corner! I love adding lightweight layers for spring! Lightweight jackets, cardigans, button front shirts are all great pieces to add to your wardrobe. I love a good pair of white denim for spring too! You can dress it up or down, depending on your occasion. And don't forget a pretty floral dress for upcoming weddings, events, showers, brunches, Easter, etc!

Everything I tried on pretty much fit true to size. I am wearing a small in all tops and the dress, and a size 4 regular in the white jeans. I grabbed a 6 regular in the dark wash high waisted jeggings and they fit well, but were a bit too long for me (I'm 5'2").

Also, I saved a video try on of all these outfits in my instagram story highlights under 'Target finds' and 'Try Ons' for those that like to see try ons in video version!

First up is this really cute blue and white pin striped top ($23!)! It is 3/4 length sleeves and the back hem is a bit longer in the back. I love this top paired with white denim! Unfortunately, I couldn't find this distressed pair online, but I did find a non-distressed pair with a similar fit HERE ($28!). I also loved these woven mules (I would say size up 1/2 size in these mules, $25!).

Next up, I tried on this cute leopard print blouse ($20!)! This blouse is super comfy and lightweight and has more of a tee shirt material panel on the back, so it's a little more casual. But, you could definitely dress it up with black denim, blazer and heels too!

I really loved this pretty pink linen blend blazer ($35!)! I would say it fits true to size, or go up a size if in between. I'm wearing a size 2 here and need a 4. Unfortunately, I could not find this pink and white striped tee online!

Olive is another big trend right now. Olive shirts, dresses, jackets and jeans! I loved this olive button down top (under $20!)! It is super soft too!

Another way to wear the olive top is to layer it over a tee! Everyone needs a good black and white striped tee and this one fits so well and is only $8!

I really LOVED this camo utility jacket ($35!)! These utility jackets are a great transitional layer to use in the spring time! And everyone loves camo right now!

Last but not least is this pretty blue floral patterned off the shoulder dress ($30!)! I loved the fit and cut of this dress! It is SO flattering! There's also some button detail snd it splits open in the front. This dress would be perfect for a spring wedding, shower, Easter, etc!

Transitional Shoes for Spring

This time of year it's hard to know what type of shoes we need for what ever weather it's going to be for the day! Some days its raining, some days its snowing, and some days its sunny and actually above freezing?! I've had some questions about transitional shoe options from winter to spring, so I thought I would do a little round up of what I have and what I recommend for this time of year...

Best part is... they are all less than $100 and most are under $50!!

Current sales
-Get 15% off everything, 20% off of $99 or 25% off of $199 at DSW, use code: XOXO (ends tonight!)

-Get $10 off when you spend $40 or more on clothes, shoes and accessories at Target!

First, let me go ahead and share the shoes I own and love that I am planning on wearing to transition into spring...

1. I recently ordered this pair of pointed toe mules after seeing them on a few blogger friends of mine and I am smitten with them! I love this pointed toe trend because it helps to elongate my short and stumpy legs! And I just love the subtle studded detailing on the sides!

2. Another new pair I recently ordered are these slip on sneakers. Oh my heavens are they comfy! Like walking on my memory foam mattress! And I love the slight texture and neutral color of them. I know I will get a TON of use out of these because they are perfect for that hashtag mom life!

3. I also recently got this pair of New Balance sneakers and this is another pair that I've already got a ton of use out of! They are a great athletic shoe to wear around running errands or if you want to look like you are planning to work out while wearing your athleisure 😄 They also come in a grey or black, but I just love this mauvy-pink color for spring!

4. I bought this pair of wedge sneakers on the fall and unfortunately they have been sold out in the grey color for a while now! BUT, I did find a very similar pair from Target that are under $35! I didn't want to splurge on these because I wasn't sure how much I would wear them. However, I actually have been wearing them a lot and I love how they add something extra to an other wise normal outfit. And having that extra 'lift' really makes a difference on my 5'2" frame!

A few other faves:

These pink bow mules got a TON of wear last spring and summer and I'm definitely bringing them back for the spring season! One of my favorite Amazon finds for less than $15 (price depends on size)!!

These pointed toe loafers also got a ton of wear last spring and fall. I love the neutral tone and they just go with everything! This loafer is low in stock, but I found a similar pair that is a little more pricey, but I would be willing to spend the money because you will get a ton of wear out of these!

If you need a good pair of heels to make you feel sassy for date night, I have been loving this pair of leopard heels that are less than $30!

Old Navy Try On | February 2019

Happy Thursday aka Friday Eve!

I wanted to share some finds from Old Navy today because they are currently having a sale AND it's time to use your super cash if you have any! You can get 20% off your order with code 'SWEET' at checkout!

I was able to hop into Old Navy last weekend and try on a few things. They have so many cute new arrivals for spring! I ended up bringing a lot more home with me than I thought I would!

*Just for sizing reference: I am 5'2" ish and typically wear a small in tops and a 4/6/small in bottoms at Old Navy. Depending on the pants/jeans I'll sometimes order a short or petite length.

Pretty much everything I tried on and am sharing runs true to size!

I loved this cute pink half zip pullover (comes in other colors)! Runs true to size, I'm wearing a small.

Next up, I knew I wanted to try on a pair of white denim and this pair was the first and only pair I tried and loved them so much I took them home! I love the raw hem and the fact that they are just distressed a little on one knee. These run TTS.

I also love the fit of these boyfriend tees. Sometimes you just want a loose fit easy tee! These run true to size, I'm wearing a small.

And these booties were actually randomly in the dressing room (they were a little too big) but it was nice to have them to try on with some of these outfits!

I knew I needed this plaid, super soft top as soon as I saw it! I just love to colors and it's just perfect to pair with white denim!

Showing a few ways to wear this top below. On the right, I'm wearing it tied around my waist with one of my favorite tunic sweatshirts (I have this in 3 colors now lol! Perfect to wear with leggings too!)

Who doesn't love a good pair of comfy joggers?! These are so comfortable and I just love the dark marbled grey color. They do come in other colors here

And this striped long sleeve luxe tee is SO soft and comfy! Such a great staple for your wardrobe!

Another sweatshirt I picked up was this cute and comfy hoodie! It has great length on it and I just love the color bands on the arms. I'm wearing it below with my favorite distressed jeggings!

A few other favorites not pictured:

-I ordered this denim jacket for the spring
-Also ordered this water-resistant hooded anorak jacket (in black) because I am in desperate need of a new rain jacket!

-I have and love this olive shirt dress! I bought mine in the fall and wore it a ton! It is back in stock for spring!
-I also have and love this plush knit striped baseball tee! It is so soft and lightweight!

Spring & Summer Capsule Series | Vol. 2 (Denim)

Hello, friends! I bring you volume 2 of my Spring and Summer Capsule series! This post is all about jeans! I may do another post closer to summer regarding shorts, but for right now with this weather... I'm still covering my legs!

I think it's important to have a variety of jeans available for all seasons and occasions in your closet. For Spring and Summer, I like to have a good pair of white jeans, a light wash distressed pair of jeans and a dark wash pair available in my closet for a variety of occasions. I have listed below the jeans that I currently have and love, as well as some jeans that are on my wish list.

Let's start with this pair of dark washed, raw hem jeans. I got this pair a few weeks ago and I have been wearing them non-stop! They are ankle length with a 'chewed hem' as they call it and have the slightest distressing sprinkled on the front. But, these are the perfect running errands in my flip flops during the day and then throw on a pair of heels for date night pair of jeans! They fit maybe a little larger than normal, but I went ahead and got my normal size in the petite length (I'm 5' 2") and they fit great!

cardigan (currently 40% off!) | cami (currently 40% off) | jeans (currently 40% off!) | similar bag here and budget friendly here | bow wedges

$15 kimono | cami (40% off!) | jeans | bamboo clutch (less than $40 with free shipping!) | similar wedges

Second up are these distressed, high waist jeans. They are considered jeggings most likely because of how soft and stretchy they are. And pair that with the high waist and it's like you're basically wearing high waisted leggings! These were my first pair of high waisted jeans and to be honest, I don't know what took me so long! I'm much more comfortable in a mid or high rise jeans these days (RIP low rise). I got my true size in these, but they do run a big snug with the high waist! But, mine have stretched out a bit with wear.

Lastly, my favorite pair of white distressed jeans. I bought these last summer and have worn them constantly (besides the winter months) ever since! They have good stretch and are mid rise, so I feel a bit more confident wearing them. They are not see through and have butt pockets which is a must with white denim! I would say these run true to size as well.

denim jacket | tee shirt | distressed white jeans | designer dupe booties | similar bag | $8 sunnies

These are definitely my top 3 most worn jeans currently. I also wear this pair quite often and refer to them as my 'church' jeans 😂 Because there is no distressing on them and they are very basic and flattering!

Spring & Summer Capsule Series | Vol. 1 (Tees)

If you caught my instastories earlier in the week, you know I've been working on cleaning out, editing and organizing my closet for spring. The first step was to go through everything and pick out items that I haven't worn in over a year that are still in good condition and try to sell them. I have a poshmark account (find me @lindsllstyling) and I've had some success selling my gently used, still in good condition clothes and accessories at some second hand stores here in town. Once that is done, I usually will donate all clothes that are left that I no longer wear or need. Once I paired down my clothing items to the stuff I actually wear, I started organizing everything by season. I put the spring, summer stuff on the side that is easily accessible and put all my fall/winter stuff on another side. I also went through all my accessories, handbags, shoes and jewelry the same way.

In doing this, I was able to take some inventory of what I had in my closet already for the spring and summer seasons and what I needed to add to my 'wish' list. I was going to list out everything in one post, but I realized it would be lengthy, so I decided to break out everything into categories.

For this first edition of my Spring/Summer capsule series, I'm going to talk about tee shirts! These are staples in my closet and I feel like you can never have too many comfortable, soft, easy to throw on t-shirts!

A few of my favorite t-shirts that I purchased last year were this Lush v-neck (I have the grey color in size MED, but probably could have done a SM), these Caslon rounded v-neck tees (size small, these run big) and this BP Raw Edge V-neck tee (in SM, run TTS). You may have noticed that all of these are from Nordstrom. And that is intentional! When it comes to a t-shirt, you might think 'why would I spend more money on a t-shirt?!' and my answer to that is because you wear them all the time! I have a few t shirts that I have purchased from Target or Old Navy and to be honest, they start to look bad after just a few times in the wash! AND, as always Nordstrom always offers free shipping and returns!

This Lush tee says 'dry clean only' which is silly. You do not need to dry clean this tee! I simply put it in the washing machine on delicate and flat or line dry. Easy peasy! And this one I probably wear most often!! It is so soft and has stayed soft and new looking for almost a year!

These Caslon tees are also a great staple and I will most likely buy a few more colors this year! I bought a few different striped versions last year and I'm loving the new patterns this season! The rounded v-neck is perfect too because it still has the flattering shape of a v-neck, but isn't too deep that you feel like you are 'exposed'! Nothing worse than hanging around with toddlers that like to pull at your shirt or when you bend over to pick them up and you feel like everything is hanging out lol!

I love how soft and light weight these BP Raw Edge v-neck tees are and I'm loving all the new, bright colors for spring! I bought this one last year in a light pink color and wear it so much! I may have to snag this one in black and another bright color to wear with my white jeans

There you have it! My top pics for tees! I'm hoping to share a new volume of this series each week with a new staple item for spring/summer.

Let me know in the comments what your staple items are for spring and summer!

How to Transition Your Style for Spring (when it's still cold...)

*I'm co-hosting with NatalieAnnie and Owen for the Thoughts for Thursday link up today! If you are new around here, welcome! You can learn more about me and the blog here.

First of all, I want to thank all of you who messaged me on instagram after I shared on my stories that my mom was having surgery Monday! I'm happy to report, that she is doing well and is feeling a bit better everyday.

On a brighter note, I am so excited to share this post because my friend Abby (from Mom with Muscle) helped with the pictures and they turned out great! It's so fun to have blogger friends that live in the same town to help with this stuff so my husband doesn't get annoyed with taking my photos! 😆

Ever since March 1st hit the calendar, I have been on a spring kick! I am ready for warmer temps and to toss the coats and boots for at least a good 7/8 months! I think it's a pretty common feeling for everyone to be sick of winter by this time. Unfortunately, I live in Ohio where there is basically no spring and we are still having winter like temps in March... It even snowed some today! 😭 However, there is still a way to dress for spring while staying warm at the same time! I'm all about incorporating the spring colors as early as March. That means pastels, bright tones, white and light wash denim, light/neutral tone bags, fun/trendy sunglasses and peep toe booties

I was so excited when I saw this pretty pink sweater was on sale for under 10 bucks (the pink is now sold out, but comes in other colors), I had to snag it! I actually sized up to a medium for a more relaxed, cozy fit.

This sweater pairs perfectly with this pair of white distressed denim and my new $35 (designer dupe) booties

Another way to spruce up your wardrobe for spring is to wear some fun, new colorful shades like these $8 rose gold aviators
